Excellent!!

Now then, when hokydad posts whom do you picture? I see Gilbert Gottfried.

I spend my idle time picturing Brooklyn Decker in the shower...but, hey, that's just me, you guys are free to daydream about anything you like.;):p:D

Brooklyn Decker? Must be a generational thing.

I'm going to go with Steve Buscemi's character in Billy Madison. He posts a few things on the computer, puts on some lipstick and sits back on his couch in mom's basement, and crosses off Nick Papagiorgio from his list of people he'd like to kill after I give him a compliment or remind him to take his meds.

I thought there was some sort of rule in place at the time that meant if Ricky was gonna make himself eligible for the draft (he opted in, no?) he would lose his college eligibility due in part to his age or something.
You're right. He had to opt in, and by doing so gave up his remaining eligibility. He did so though knowing he would be going very high with his deal (that cursed milbury again!!!)

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

Actually, for the June 2000 draft, you had to be 19 by September 15th of that year and his birthday was September 19th. If he was 19 before the 15th, he could've been drafted that year and stayed in school. If he stayed in school and went in the 2001 draft, there were two other goaltenders elegible for the draft that year that would probably have been drafted ahead of him. So, he opted in. I blamed his mother for not popping him out a few days early. :)

Anyone other than Scarlet heading to the Frozen Four? If so, who ya rooting for?

Scarlet has too much time on her hands. :D

Not going but rooting for either Minny-Duluth or Notre Dame. Michigan and North Dakota have enough titles....;)

Agreed. I think I'm leaning slightly toward Notre Dame just because of how much I respect Jeff Jackson, but either way I'll be rooting for the winner of that game in the championship.

I'm a bigtime Michigan football fan and to a lesser extent, a basketball hockey fan too, so I'm definitely rooting for M. Wouldn't mind seeing UMD win either, though.

Tom Petty

Richard Petty

Richard Nixon

Oh this isn't the people association thread. As you were.

I'll take Tom Brady over Wayne, Tom Petty over Richard, and Trot Nixon over Richard. Wait, are we not doing that either?

And the envelope says: "Name a comedian, a playboy, a crooner, a king, a crook and a guy with red socks"

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

I see on the BC thread the Eagles are playing in the Great Lakes Invitational next season. I thought BU was going to be in that tournament next year (the year after?) What's the story? Hasn't BC played in that before?

BU was supposed to be in the GLI this past season, but backed out in favor of the Shillelagh. BU hasn't been invited to any future GLI's that I know of.

Re: Boston University Part IV: Off-Season or New Season?

Worth noting amidst all the BU coaching talks that had been going on here that '97 grad John Hynes just won AHL coach of the year working with the Baby Penguins.
