So mookie, no Tuesday before Thanksgiving game?

BTW, I now have your schedule (more or less) on the blog. Throwing journalistic integrity out the window on this one.

Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

There has to be more to the story than the St. Patricks Day incident, then showing up late for the punishment day, and a you tube video. I am guessing that there were more rules broken, etc. to justify being released from the team.
Vinny Saponari is a great hockey player, and IF these were the only problems with him, I feel badly about it.....but as said......I suspect there is more to the story

.
Vinny Saponari is a great hockey player...

 We've got different definitions for what's considered a great hockey player. How would you describe Wilson or Gilroy (or even Yip) then?

Hey. Just because Vinny couldn't find the puck when it was gift-wrapped for him at the doorstep of the net doesn't mean he's not as good as . . . oh wait.

I think it is a safe assumption that this was an ongoing issue... and those were the items that sealed thier doom.

I'm happy someone else said what I was thinking. Just deleted a whole long rant for the sake of everyone's sanity.

How on Earth does a team captain let this happen?

reads, "current team captain". so pick from #'s 5,6, 12. (doesn't read "last year's captain" to me. course i could be wrong... been before. will be again.)

Correct. It means one of next season's captains. I think Onion Man's question is still valid, though, in asking how 2, 3 and 13 let this happen.

I didn't think last year's Captain was there (assumed anyways), but I have to think he knew about it since these kids always hang out together. I mean, did they think they wouldn't get caught?

I will admit, the thought of the entire BU team biking along the Charles River is kind of a funny.

i dont remember what night it was but i remember multiple weekday nights where i saw various hockey players standing outside a "bar near BU's west campus" ...three guesses what that place was...

I think this is where it starts to become clear that the commitment expected of a BU hockey team fell down last year. And that it wasn't a question of being worried about "getting caught" but rather whether anyone would be held accountable. Maybe that came with the NCAA Championsip hangover, maybe not. But the results speak for themselves.

On the biking note, for those who don't know, the bikes never go anywhere. You pedal your butt off and never move.

I just found and listened to "Party like a puck star".

I'm embarrassed to admit that.

So, so very bad.

How the hell is Trivino going to face the world now?

Saponari got off easy.

And that it wasn't about "getting caught" but rather not taking pride in what they were doing and not caring about giving their best performances. Maybe that came with the NCAA Championsip hangover, maybe not. But the results speak for themselves.

Re: Boston University Offseason Thread 2: Moving Forward by Booting Forwards

is this a new development or were all these culprits already considered in the recent penalties/bike rides?

In the latest article on the freep it seems that the coaches had been doing these bike rides for all the culprits and when Saponari the Greater and Trivino decided to show up so late they basically skipped the mandatory bike ride.

That was the last straw.
