Boston University 2012 Offseason

If you read the papers, you’ll see a different story. According to the media, the task force did find plenty wrong with the BU hockey culture. They have decided to run with the story that there is a culture of sexual entitlement among some BU hockey players and that the hockey players are held to a lower academic standard and isolated on campus from the rest of the BU students.
They are running with that story because that is word for word what the report said.

Did she even read it?

Awesome. Hopefully you all have a great time at the game (well, hopefully not too good of a time :p). They used to give a $3 discount to groups of 25 or more, but perhaps they no longer do that (or perhaps your group is not of that size). Either way, have fun, and I hope you enjoy the experience.

In the Henry Ford style of group discounts you get a group discount for any 2012-13 UND game you want as long as it is one where they are playing Holy Cross. Thanks again.

Strangely, if you visit a Pedd State message board, you will see hoardes of Pedd State fans also blaming the media and the university.

Other than a dozen or so similarities between BU and Pedd State, these are really two very different things. RIGHT.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

“It was insane,” one former student who attended told the BU task force. “People were having sex in the penalty box.”

Referring to conquests as “kills.”

BU Hockey.......bringing a totally new meaning to the words, "penalty kill".

Nick........ Not even in the same world.

You are trying to compare this to

Michael McQueary, on administrative leave from his job, said he entered the football locker room and heard the "rhthymic slapping sounds of skin on skin" coming from a shower stall where, through a mirror, he glimpsed a naked Sandusky with the front of his body pressed against the rear of a child who McQueary estimated to be as young as 10.

McQueary said he stepped toward the shower and saw Sandusky in an "extremely sexual" position behind the boy. The former Penn State quarterback said he slammed a locker door in an attempt to break up the encounter. "I made the loud noise in an attempt to say, 'Someone's here! Break it up!' " he said.

On his way out of the facility, McQueary said, he saw that Sandusky and the boy had separated. He said no one said a word and Sandusky had a "blank" look on his face.

Asked why he left the locker room immediately, McQueary said: "I wasn't thinking 100% right. It was more than my brain could handle."

Earlier stories on Sandusky trial
STORY: First alleged victim testifies against Sandusky
STORY: Jury includes PSU senior, ex-teacher
The boy involved in the alleged shower incident has never been found.

If a BU ast coach observed that, ten to 1 someone would have been killed

Penn state's "crime" was the suppression of the investigation of and cover up over a period of years of a possible crime committed on their campus & in their facilities to protect their athletic brand.

They did not have to vacate wins and lose scholarships because a former asst coach like little dicks.

Therefore..... If BU has been covering up sexual assaults I am first in line to clean house. But (for now) these are not the same situations.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

We heard about the girl at Ts having hands thrust down her pants when this first came out. The task force doesn't have legal power. This girl should go with witnesses to the cops. What happened, if true, is illegal.

If T's Pub is such a problem spot why doesn't Jack make it off limits to the team? Sure the team will probably find another bar to hang out at but at least it will send a message.

I've been pining from the start to just send everyone to Le Cafe Dugout. No girls ever go there, the players can drink themselves into oblivion, and everything can be hunky dory.

No problem with that. I also think BUPD is deputized in Boston. They could go in claiming an annonimous tip about underaged drinking and roust T's clientele- making life miserable for T if he doesn't play ball.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

I'm sorry but where the hell is the coaching staff on this? I don't know what T's standards are under the new owners, but at the very least why can't someone from the team get their @ sses over to T's and check up on the players. Walk in there at 1 AM and find one guy praying to the porcelain gods in the bathroom and another with his hands down the pants of a girl trying to fight him off and the coaches will have all the proof they need to start handing out disciplinary action - or have the school handle it like any other student.

You might see that happening going forward... as I mentioned before, I can sypmathize with the coaching staff on this. As I said before, it is very hard to know what your athletes are doing outside of practice. If they start checking up on T's then they will move to White Horse, or at an off campus party etc etc... you come down on the ones you do catch breaking team rules, but you never know what you are not catching.

Hey Nick...how do you type on your keyboard if you're holding a pitchfork and a torch? ;)

While this is true, T's is the only place where everyone there knows who the hockey players are, and doesn't check any of their ID's. Everyone knows it happens, I've seen it happen, administrators who also go to T's have seen underage players there, it's just the way it is. If BU/coaching staff wanted the underage kids to stop being let into T's, they could make it happen. While they could move to other places, the Allston bars likely won't allow the underage players in because of how strict the city is with enforcing underage drinking at those bars. There's a reason the underage players ALL go to T's and only T's, whereas the 21+ ones can sometimes be seen at other Allston bars. There's responsibility to go all around here.

I agree with this for sure... and is why I don't think the comments in the task force report about working with local establisments are out of line at all. This had to be directed at T's without mentioning them by name.
