Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

How the **** do you have a full on party at the arena and people didn't know.

I'm sorry that's at the "cleanse the place with fire and start over" level... Jack Parker is the problem, he thinks he can control the madness.

Edit: I will not respect a coach who does not summarily dismiss players for drinking in the locker room.

They all knew about it, hell, I'd heard about it long ago. In their defense, this occurred after the season was over, so it wasn't as if they were drinking in the locker room when they should've been practicing/training/perparing for a game. Nonetheless, this all is ugly.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

really, after the season is over and right after they won the championship being down by 2 with about 3 minutes to play?
no alcohol in the lockerrom for players who are 25 years old?
really?

Ya, because every player on that team was of age.

it is amazing to me that so many fans of other schools throw stones from their glass houses.
THIS IS WHAT D1 athletics is all about... my god!!!

You're really good at generalizing and casting aspersions. THIS is what D1 athletics are all about? I can't take you seriously.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

What's frustrating to me from this article is that those at the administrative level seem to turn a blind eye and say, gee, we didn't know the players were drinking like this. They knew and in some cases, actively allowed it to occur.

No offense but this is a ridiculous position to take. No, I don't care if the players are 30 years old. No drinking in season, off season, any season in the locker room. If the Red Sox can ban it in the clubhouse, is it sooooo hard to ban it in a college athletic program's locker room?

This is in the athletic program, not the administration. They trusted the coaches to have a handle on the situation and they didn't. Now they need to be stepping in and taking action.

I'm not absolving the athletic department of anything, I'm commenting separately that some of the administration's response to this stuff seems to be, well, we didn't know when in fact, many of them did know quite a bit of the players' drinking habits. And their statement that they didn't know about that party on the ice at Agganis after the title is patently false, that was the party heard 'round campus.

As for their sexual exploits, that I don't know if they knew about, and a good portion of what's in the Globe article are quotes from single people that the task force was not able to substantiate, so there's probably a bit of exaggeration mixed in with truth in a few of those statements.

Just wondering...is the Globe article the first trickle in what will become a steady stream of these allegations? Seems like these things usually go this way.

I sure hope not. No matter how made up some future allegations may be, it all makes for an even bigger black eye to the school and program.

Yowzaa!
Whatever possessed these guys after DC to think they could go and hold this 'event' there is outside of my thought process.

And if I can add (as a neanderthal man), the drunk permission made have had a different slant during the interview. I read today on and on that if a drunk man and drunk woman have sex, it is rape due to the woman not being of sound & clear mind. I have little to no doubt that this is what whatever Cmte member who ask was thinking here. I have to agree with the ill spoken response that should have best be kept unsaid. Women do not get a pass on having sex if they are drunk. They absolutely do not and should not expect to get raped if passed out on a bed!! But having a couple drinks and losing ones inhibitions does not allow you a "do over" the next morning. (end Neanderthal mookie rant)

We heard about the girl at Ts having hands thrust down her pants when this first came out. The task force doesn't have legal power. This girl should go with witnesses to the cops. What happened, if true, is illegal.

I still want to know if after the trivino arrest- did brownie call a meeting with jack? What was said? What was decided to be done going forward?

We also already know there are two sets of rules. Some guys stop and have a beer after a funeral and get suspended and stripped of their C. Other have a st Patrick's day party before a playoff game and skate (literally :p)

I agree there could be a distinction made but... it is funny considering he booted Brendan Walsh from the program for drinking in the locker room.

a Wise man once Wrote "sex is natural sex is good. Not everybody does it, but everybody should."

However. When you stick you hands in a box uninvited, or push your way into a room and lay down to wait. That is something that is unacceptable and can bring charges. Not knowing how to differentiate between wanted & unwanted.. AND NOT CARING OR BELIEVING there are consequences can lead people to believe there are systemic problems and start then talking about culture problems.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

No worries going forward, mookie. Remember, BU is gonna make the players take a class on how to prevent yourself from raping someone.

Maybe one girl quoted is Trivinomeansno's RA.

After all, we can't trust her, she didn't know about the RA rules for opening the door!!!!!!

Am I right or am I right?

You're 100% right, what I'm saying is that some of the statements the Globe quoted are single unsubstantiated comments from various people during an interview. Should we believe every single comment made by every single person who claims a high profile athlete did this or that to them? If that's the case, the Duke lacrosse players would all be in jail, Kobe Bryant would be a rapist, and Ben Gordon would've been kicked off the UConn basketball team in 2003 and likely thrown in jail. That's my point, a good portion of those comments are likely true, while some may have been exaggerated for one reason or another.

Re: Boston University 2012 Offseason

Kobe did do it. Trinity gone bad!! She didn't want that log in her pooper!! (and neither would I! :D)

I addressed this in my previous post. She needs to see the cops with her friends/witnesses. Now! She told one of the bloggers during the winter, and the TF again. Tell the cops and get the kid jammed up.

Did not the guy who sand that lyric end up getting caught doing something wrong in a public LA bathroom? I am sure you knew that when selecting that song.

I am glad you brought this up.

When will this issue be addressed? Over the years we've seen some good kids tossed and bad kids kept around.

Glass studies - BOOTED. Sabo BOOTS a kid's face into oblivion - no problem, suit up next game the Beanpot is coming up!

Puckstar Saponari gets tossed for "conduct unbecoming a Terrier" I think was the quote... so Sabo's conduct was not unbecoming a Terrier?

Oh I know... he was acquitted so he's innocent just like Nicastro! RIGHT?!

Just because you think that behavior was wrong doesn't make it so! (while I may not choose to play for that team, he and his ah, teammate, are welcome to do as they wish).

You continue to be in denial during this whole thing.

It's tough to imagine a scenario when a girl would lie about this stuff to a task force considering it would likely not be able to give her a channel to seek retribution towards previously mentioned scumbag BU hockey player.
