Boston University 2011 Offseason

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

must be hockey season. good to see we're back arguing with the igles instead of the clowns from elsewhere arguing over sat scores or trying to tell us that WBA isn't located on campus.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

FL said today on Twitter that he spoke with Parker and he said he will announce the 2 A's to go with Chris Connolly, who will be the lone C for this coming season. Who does everyone want for the 2 A's? I feel like one has to go to Chiasson and the other is up for grabs between Megan, Courtnall, Ruikka, possibly Millan even though, it is rare for a goalie to get a letter.

curry had one
larocque had one

while 2 in the last 15some years may seem low, there are only 3 on the roster at a time (hopefully only two that are playing :p), but you have a point.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

I don't have a dog in this fight, but yes he was was: http://www.uscho.com/stats/coach/mid,21/jerry-york/
USCHO is ripping Jerry off.

In 2009-2010 he won an NCAA Title: x(1)
They don't even have him listed as a top 4 finish.

In 2010-2011 he isn't credited for a RS Title (x), HE Title LT (x) and an NCAA appearance (x).
What's up with that? Pretty poor showing for one of college hockey's top statistical and informational websites.

Incorrect USCHO Stats

I didn't check to see if they're ripping off Jackie... because I don't care. :p :D

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

#9 #10 and #31 have to be the leading candidates for the A's unless there's some dark horse in the back of Parker's head.

Agreed on #9 and #31, but not #10. Contrasting personalities - Chiasson is more outspoken and vocal, whereas Millan is quiet and would likely lead by example.

Trivino hasn't demonstrated enough consistency throughout his career and needs to put it all together this season to have future in at least the AHL.

I wouldn't be surprised if #22 is a leading candidate to wear an A. IMO, Gaudet has solid leadership qualities (esp. off the ice), not dissimilar to McCarthy.

Is there a chance he wont even be dressing??

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

From what I've heard, Courtnall's definitely a legitimate candidate and possibly even the leader for the second A (assuming Chiasson gets the first). Gaudet, Millan and Ruikka (especially if you're looking for that lead-by-example) should be contenders, too.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

I don't see Millan getting an A. Too quite, too reserved. I feel if a goalie is going to get one, he's got to have a little bit more of a presence than Millan has.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

Where could a non-Twitter conversant person find these pearls of wisdom?

I'll be covering Hockey East for CHN this season, so I'll have some BU stuff there. As far as the little tidbits go, I'll try and remember to post any interesting ones here as well as on twitter. I'm sure the fine folks over at the Boston Hockey Blog are gonna have a lot more of those than I will, though.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

Came home from vacation to find the little postal slip in my mailbox. Looks like season tickets have been mailed!

Nah, playing naked worked in Slapshot but is sure to draw criticism from the league.

I guess he could tatoo the A on there.
A permanent scarlet letter, if you will.
