Boston University 2011 Offseason

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

That must have come as news to the majority of forwards in HE.

That is what I'm saying. I'll give them that Clendening has shown the potential to be one of the best but NiCastro is the 5th or 6th best d-man on the team nevermind the rest of the league. Yeah BC that high shocked me as well as I don't think either team(BU or BC) is a top 5 team to begin the year.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

Nicastro is top 2 or 3 on that team. No chance he is 5/6

BU is top 5, BC is top 10

BC
Kreider, Almeida, Carey(ex ushl scoring leader), Mullane, Whitney, Arnold would be top line+/- on every HE team
Hayes, Goudreau(the encore of nate gerbe), Straight make for a high end top 3 lines.

Cross and Dumoulin are top 2 in league outside maybe Oneil. Who is not "Wes" as the article says, many mistakes in there. Dumoulin not a sr etc.

Only BC is is goalie, time will tell

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

Sad story, Andrew Glass' younger brother apparently made a trip into Boston to get his computer fixed on Tuesday and has not been heard from since then. http://www.boston.com/Boston/metrod...entham-teen/oTGjTAHtSOjE5zuTKvfbpL/index.html Another story I read said police found his truck on Boylston Street, but his phone has been shut off and he hasn't been heard from since Tuesday night. Very sad story that hopefully sees a happy ending.

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

Jesus H Christ. That is not good.

Let's all say a prayer for the Glass family. Hope he just took a little "vacation" and turns his phone back on but the phone being turned off is not a good indicator.

Saw this article, but didn't put 2 and 2 together. Yikes! They're in my thoughts... :(

Re: Boston University 2011 Offseason

CHN predictions came out yesterday. Look at who they got at #2 in the nation. The line about NiCastro being one of the best in HE doesn't inspire any confidence in these predictions though.

Yeah, #2 isn't realistic. What's sad is seeing only 3 eastern teams in their top 10 -- and that's with Yale, nestled in the last spot. And the only other HE team to get a mention is Maine on the teams to watch list -- behind Holy Cross and Lake State, which last year sported a 13 and 17 record last season.

Who is he better than? He has the potential to be the best d-man on the team but he has never played like it. I think Clendening, Noonan, and Ruikka are all better and more consistent that him. I haven't seen Priviterra play and he is better than Escobedo. I think BU should be somewhere between 5 and 10 and BC somewhere 10-15 to begin the year but I certainly see both climbing throughout the year.

On a more serious note, I know the some of BU hockey team went out today to hand out flyers and help looking for Matt Glass. Hopefully all turns out for the best.

Ruikka is not better.

He is top 2

Wow, if this story is true I would consider this a borderline miracle that he came home alive.

In the meantime, I hope to sweet Christ they find these filthy pigs that abducted him and cut their nuts off. Really have to wonder about what type of society we live in.

A Wrentham teenager who had been missing since Tuesday was found alive Thursday night in Dedham, and he claimed that he had been abducted, police and a witness said.

Wrentham police said Thursday night on their Twitter feed that Matthew Glass, 17, had been found. Glass had not been seen since 3 p.m. on Tuesday when he told his parents he was going to an Apple Store in Boston for computer repairs, authorities said.

Brett Wallace, 34, of Dedham, said in a phone interview that Glass showed up at his door Thursday night on Cedar Street shortly after 9:00 and appeared to be disoriented. He said Glass was slumped over on the front steps and claimed that three men had kidnapped him in an alley in Boston after he offered to help them with a car problem.

Wallace said Glass, who was barefoot, did not describe the men or say where they had taken him.

‘‘He was very incoherent,’’ Wallace said. ‘‘He said, ‘I just literally got dropped off at the bridge’ ’’ near Wallace’s home.

Wallace said he gave Glass some water and immediately called for an ambulance.

Wrentham and Dedham police did not release additional information when contacted late Thursday night.

A woman who answered the phone at Glass’s home said that his parents were heading to Norwood Hospital to see him. The woman had no word on Glass’s condition. A hospital spokeswoman said she could not confirm nor deny that Glass was there.

Wallace said Glass appeared to be ailing, even though he showed no outward signs of physical harm.

‘‘He just seemed ... roughed up,’’ Wallace said. ‘‘His feet were clearly dirty, like he was marching through the woods.’’

Wallace said that while he was initially startled when Glass appeared, ‘‘then it was a relief to know that this guy had been found.’’

Glass’s disappearance had drawn concern from family, friends, and authorities, including his mother, who spoke out to reporters earlier Thursday, saying to her son, ‘‘We love you very much and we don’t care what trouble you might have gotten yourself in. ... We just want you home and safe.’’

It appears the abduction story might not have been true, and it would be attributable to his recent concussion leading to disorientation. I'm more inclined to believe the latter, you'd have to be Jason Bourne x3 to kidnap someone against their will on Boylston Street at 3pm on a Tuesday without anyone noticing or it being caught on camera.

If there were abductors, I propose them being subjected to two choices, a locked room with an enraged Gryba or the tunnel behind the bench with an enraged Parker.

A concussion from "last fall" is causing him to disappear for a few days and make up stories about abductions? Yikes. Hope he comes out alright.

Off topic --> slurpees, give Susan Herbst my best... no chance at making buddies with Fr. Leahy. I find the begging hilarious, though. We'll put in a good word for your acceptance into the MAC though!

Regardless if was an abduction or concussion related, thank god he was found alive. What a relief to his family and friends. I am a PC fan and season ticket holder, WHEN I heard the entire BU team went on the streets handing out flyers all i could hope for was an ending like this. Love to see teams come together like this for a common cause. BU comes in to PC for our first game of the season and im glad Glass and their whole team wont have a black cloud following them. Its the ending i was praying for.

Andrew Glass actually isn't on the team anymore. Parker kicked him off half way through last season.
