Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Hokydad, if I recall, a few months ago you mentioned that BC would not have a forward back that many people were expecting to be back. But you just listed Arnold, Hayes, Whitney, Mullane, Carey, Kreider and Almeida. Is the guy Dyroff, Tommy Atkinson, or Patrick Brown? Or did someone you heard was turning pro decide to change their mind?

He was probably talking about Kreider, who had serious thoughts of signing with the NYR at the time.

Off topic: Spaz and Gene suck.

hard to disagree with that and it was hard to watch on saturday..............we have become a soccer school. did anyone notice the numbers on the uniforms are more block-like or was it just me? if so, that was the one positive from saturday, well, that and Rettig, the kid is good

There's a lot of talk about that in EagleOutsider Board. Season ticket holders and donations are at the lowest they've ever been with Gene in charge and Spaz on the sidelines.

Yes, the new uniforms did away with the slanted numbers. Does that mean hockey will too?

Tiefenwerth isn't coming until next fall. It was probably because of the late additions of Gaudreau and Linell.

Ya, he's listed as this year and next year by Heisenberg so I won't believe anything until I actually see a roster. Seems like the kid's name has been out there forever. Will he even end up at BC?

Was this last offseason in regard to Cam Atkinson?

Dumouling and Cross will be top 3 or 4 in league from point. Might be first year in a while where they might use D on first unit PP all the time.

I don't think it's a stretch to say Dumoulin could/should be the best dman in the league again.

i already mentioned this ,but i work with brian's old man. Its interesting getting the perspective on raising a kid who will eventually go pro. You see what they put on the ice, but you never hear about the rest of it. That said, I am glad that they are having him stick it out one more year at BC.

our department has a bunch of guys who played before, so it wouldn't surprise me if a group of them caught a few games to support petes kid. oh yeah, you guys might appreciate this ; he got a kick out of me calling the Umaine Blackbear hockey program ' A bunch of fvcking clowns'.

best of luck to you guys this year!

The University of No Hardware calling anyone a bunch of clowns is alughable. Talk about a program that couldnt win a big game if the schools existance depended upon it. If U Maine, with 2 national championships and far more success is a bunch of clowns, UNH is a court jester with zero tricks up their sleeve, outside how to under perform when it counts

The man has a point. No one can deny this.

The only real thing one can say on the UNH side of a Maine-UNH argument is that while they have no titles but at least they aren't filthy cheaters (spare me the minor email recruiting violations).

It's similar to those RPI nitwits honking on the Union program...

did maine even try to recruit dumoulin?

According to the USHR article, on 8/24/08, they did. Along with UNH, Merrimack and a couple others. I remember BU was not one of his finalists, but I don't know if they tried recruiting him or not. If they didn't, they sure missed the boat.
