Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Appears as though tiefenwerth not coming this year, listed on the EJHL Junior Bruins roster for '11-'12.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Best part of today's football game was the hockey team coming out on the field for some deserved praise for their accomplishments last year. as for the football team, what a joke...

it is already ugly............i forgot about the supposed "cupcake" in the schedule . it's been sliding downhill since TOB left. Moronic Jags was lucky to have Matty and that talented crew which underachieved his senior season even at 11-3

just saw on EA and it was mentioned before elsewhere but it looks like Syracuse and Pitt have been admitted to the ACC. Now we finally have a couple of rivals in our league, must say that i'm thrilled with this news

You guys may have some more rivals coming in. The latest speculation is saying Rutgers and UCONN are next to the ACC. While there might be some bad blood with BC fans with UCONN I'm sure money and the potential for having a nearby rival will heal the wound.

Now that just won't at all feel like the ACC.

Call me a traditionalist, but I liked the "old" ACC and the "old" Big East just the way they were.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

they are both dmen, one who played his youth days for 97 SSK, led by former BC player Neil Shea. He currrently plays at St Sebastians and was on varsity as an 8th grader. Had a very good year. The other played for Middlesex Islanders, as did his older brother who is a bc recruit and current Malden Catholic lancer. Very good, highly skilled smart player
Both are considered two of the top dmen in country if not N America at their age class. 2 Quality kids as well/

Seems kind of young but with these two it wont matter as they will stay focussed and committed.

I'd take Rutgers in a heartbeat while i'd prefer to let UConn rot in the Big East with the schools that remain there since they are similar to them and are a better fit for the Huskies................did you say bad blood?;)

Uconn and Rutgers aren't going to bring much more value to any tv contract so why split the pie into two more pieces? Rutgers or Uconn "bringing in the NYC market" is drastically overplayed. The ACC made their play and are going to sit tight for a bit. It was a good, aggressive and bold move that gives them a chance to renegotiate the tv contract they signed in a terrible time period in the economy. That is huge. If they wanted Uconn and Rutgers badly, they would have already grabbed them and would be done. It's telling that Pitt and SU were grabbed ahead of these two.

If they decide to go to 16, and Texas and a few others are not in play anymore, you might see them try to add those two. But we'll see. ACC will hold onto those last two spots for someone great (ND, Texas) for a while until they're all not in play anymore.

I really don't care what happens... but seeing Uconn sit in their own bed of ****e that they made would be eternally hilarious.

In other news, I hope someone kicks that greasy paisan Gene right in the nuts on Saturday at the UMass game. This guy would have a hard time convincing anyone that is paying attention that he isn't trying to intentionally sabotage the football program.

hoky, are these definite verbal commitments or "unofficial verbals" they want to keep quiet or just rumored commitments?
