BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

Re: BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

My other hot take I've been keeping to myself is I thought Burt was significantly better than Leveille. Leveille did improve as the game went on and had some tremendous saves, but I have not seen a goalie keep a game a shutout for so long giving up as many rebounds as she did. If only BC could get a couple sticks on them... but they didn't. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, oh what a party it would have been in Chestnut Hill last night.

LOL, we hear the same thing from Wisco fans
all those impressive stats Burt & Desbiens put up, pffffft!!!
what did they do when it really counted?
Leveille llifetime against Badgers 12-3-1, inclluding 3 NCAA semifinall victories
no goalie has won more NCAA championships
LLoLL!!

If you mean in terms of number of rings, then you're correct. However, Jesse Vetter won three as the goaltender of record.

Re: BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

Thanks for this, I really appreciate that -- although you may take it back when you read the article I wrote earlier in the week about that article you mentioned about Frost... lol

http://www.bcinterruption.com/bosto...ns-hockey-minnesota-gophers-wisconsin-badgers

All I'm going to say is that while the article was slightly more than a little bit tongue-in-cheek, the actual mathematics of it all do make Frost's reasoning a little bit fuzzy at best and flat out wrong at worst.

No, nothing to take back and I'm glad you mentioned the UMD vs HU matchups...I was going to include them in my previous post since I thought that they had scheduled HU a few years ago but couldn't recall for sure. And, as I mentioned, UMD was scheduling top eastern opponents before their slide from prominence, (when theoretically they had more to lose, that is if the theory holds any water), and has continued to do so since.

So, no, nothing to take back...we basically agree...your article just put more meat on the bone.

ya, they were terrible. both coaches should have pulled them halfway through.

Well I guess we will all see next year what they're made of. But you can relax I mean you've got the Harvard castoff arriving next season. Better make sure you've got her school work covered....

Re: BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

Congratulations to Katie Crowley and the Eagles on another fantastic season!
40-1 this year
34-3-2 last year
27-7-3 the year before
28-6-3 in 2012-13 clearly one of the all-time great runs.
Obviously, the season didn't end they way they wanted, I have mentioned before in the Minnesota thread that judging a season solely on whether you win a national championship or not is crazy making and can get one's perspective as old Twins coach Tom Kelly would say "out of whack!"
Coach Crowley and her team know what they accomplished in putting together their 86% winning percentage over the past 4 years!

Well lets see. Player A doesn't get the SAT scores required to get INTO Harvard. Doesn't get invited to Harvard entrance interview... Sound 'bout right to you Teddy?

You sure are giving Minnesota fans a good name. You're a classless piece of sh it. Are the rest of the Gopher fans like you?

Bud, we all see you BC fans at the games. Especially goalie dad. I really love how he taunted the U Maine bench last time they played when they were up early against BC. Talk about class. Don't fall off the high horse there Bud. Any who enjoy life without big Al. We'll send you pics of next years trophy...

Re: BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

In the last five years the Gophers have played series against Yale, Penn State, BU, Princeton, Colgate, St Lawrence, New Hampshire (4 games), Syracuse, Union, Harvard (4 games) and Clarkson. Looks like some of the elite teams from out east to me. I'd like to see a series with Quinnipiac and Mercyhurst as well. Oh yeah, and maybe BC, too.

And by the way the Gophers went 30-0 in those games. Maybe that's why they have been scheduling the Whitecaps lately. They were 1-1 against them this year.

another moron heard from...i remember that. it was first period and a BC player made a pass into the neutral zone that went to nobody. the Maine coach yelled out "Nice pass!" to the player. pretty nice coming from a coach...i just returned the favor a couple of minutes later.

...and it's not just Al...its Skarupa, Bender, Johnson, Travigno and Grieves...they will be missed.

do you really think that losing that game to MN bothered me? if so, you really don't know me. that team deserved to win. they are a great team.
you're just diminishing the win. those kids and coaches are the real deal.
and don't flatter yourself with a win next year. WI will be sending me the pics...which should throw all of you MN posters into a real tizzy.

High horse? first time i've heard that one.

why wouldn't you stop by and introduce yourself? I'm harmless...really. ask Grant.

Oh no I made goalie dad mad. So you show you're so much better by making a threat?? Grant is a whimp by the way. Besides I wouldn't want you to get in trouble AGAIN Bud. And you're probably right WI will be sending you trophy pics. Glad you now know your place in the hockey world. BC now stands for Big Choke. Hey your kid made it all possible. Be proud and stand tall. Well thanks for the cupcakes Bud...

WI beats BC in a 1/4 final?

wouldn't surprise me
do not count MN out until it happens

WCHA against the rest in NCAA action (by my count) 45-8
15 of 16 championships

you two buttholes keep talking about arrogance, it isn't arrogant if it's a fact

arrogance is you two and the awesomeness of BC
from now on your team will be known as the Beagles on this forum

Re: BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

furthermore ...
WCHA teams have lost 22 games in the NCAA tournaments
14 of those losses were to other WCHA teams
the other three conferences have combined for just 8 wins

IOW, it takes a WCHA team to beat a WCHA team

yes, west arrogance

Pokey - per your own posts you hate it here in Minnesota, get off our side.

Dead End - you seen to follow a D3 team with no Minnesota players, you know way to much about Ted to be a random minny hockey parent. Seems like maybe your not really a 612er and you want to take some personal shots at someone who you know. We choose to be nice on the surface and passive aggressive when pushed here in flyover land. You might have better cammo to pretend to be from NY or Jersey.

Ted - When a coach yells something at a player, maybe they are being a dork but they are sort of a participant in the game. When a parent feels the need to respond in defense, well they might need to take a step back and realize that they are just fans at this point.

Re: BC Women's Hockey, 2015-2016: Embrace The Cupcake Diet

Ask the players If they are celebrating a 40-1 season without a National Championship - the post game interviews were heartbreaking. Those ladies were 40-0 - Crowley was 0-1 and has shown she can't win the game that matters.

Just for fun, imagine if the roles were reversed, with the Gophers and Eagles switching places...Minnesota in Hockey East and BC in the WCHA, with the Gophers going 40-0 in a comparatively weak Hockey East while the Eagles having had the experience of playing much tougher competition during the regular season and then in the playoffs, most notably five games against a really tough opponent in Wisconsin.

I'm not sure you can pin much if any blame on the coach. It could very well have been more a case of their strength of schedule and the experience and know-how of playing and learning how to beat opponents having talent and systems at least equal to that of their own.
