BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Aw lighten up ya old coot.
There you go, that's the attitude we want.

But . . .

Which of us is more boring? Me, the old coot? Or you, the used to be interesting when you were a college student but who is gradually descending into not very interesting at all troll? What we get from you now is the viewpoint of a not very interesting just another guy going to work every day but who still wants his favorite team to do well.

I respect the work you have done in the past. I am hoping for better from you than the pretty tired trolling that we have seen of late.

You can do better.

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

I don't get it. Are you saying you want me to go back to college, or what? Serious question.

That's... completely accurate, is that not okay?

You can do better.
Better what? Better trolling? Was my trolling of higher quality in college? Did I not troll back then at all? What was so interesting about me being in college?

Grant, you used to be SO much better at disguising your trolls! ;) But, just to play along, the Gophers have to somehow find a way to get by two Eastern powers in Princeton and St. Lawrence, who they play in weekend series on the road and at home respectively. But the really big test will come right away in their first series of the season when they host three time defending Hockey East champion, Boston University! :p

I'm thinking he should stand by that :p.

At least try to play two teams. Like one in Newton then playing at Matthews. Maybe one of them is having a bad year but we need to have some east against west or the pwr is even more useless.

The schedule has FINALLY been announced:

http://www.bceagles.com/sports/w-hockey/spec-rel/091014aaa.html

The schedule on BCEagles.com still has the split squad game but if you read the article, the Maine game is 12/5 at 5pm and the Dartmouth game is 12/10 at 7pm

Also we're not playing Queens (NY) in our exhibition, we're playing Queen's College from Canada. That game is at Walter Brown because reasons.

EDIT: Here's a the schedule in a Google Calendar if anyone's interested

Hmmm, not only does BC not play "anyone decent" from the West, they don't play "Anyone at all" from the West!
I know it, Coach tried to schedule western teams on this most recent rotation (these are the same opponents as last year) but no one out west could work anything out with us. We're expecting to have some western representation on next year's schedule.

I sound like a broken record saying this.

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

That's Queen's UNIVERSITY to be precise. As previously mentioned the Gaels hail from Kingston Ontario.

Re: BC Women's Hockey '14-'15: #SOAR

Nope not at all. Just thought if anyone, you would be cognizant of the important difference between a University and a College....

Do they have colleges or university's in Canada? Seems like all the girls come down to the USA to get an education.

In Canada "college" usually refers to prep schools or post secondary vocational/technical schools. The country has many top flight universities, however NCAA hockey is a better level than the CIS, and scholarships are more plentiful here than up north.

Someone from Mass once told me that a University is where you go when you earn it and a college is where you go when your parents did.

That sure explains the Ivy university legacies lol

I think you might have it backwards

52.2% of 34.8 million population
41.3% of 318.6 million population

hardly apples to apples.
anyone can find a way to get numbers to explain what they want. my post wasn't about people with degrees...it was stating that Canadian kids come south for education. I was asking if there are any colleges or universities in Canada.

A few Canadians go south for education...the most recent number I saw was about 27,000, which is less than 3% of Canadians enrolled in university. You may not be aware that there are colleges and universities in Canada, but a rapidly growing number of American students are not only aware of them but are attending them: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...eaper-fees-number-enrolled-doubled-years.html

no Ted, they don't...that's part of the problem and the reason why they all come down here....well, that and the free education and all the Guv'ment cheese they can eat.
