Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

ha it would be like if bc hoops went on the road and beat undefeated cuse ;)

i think the edge would always go to holy cross over minnesota since it was a tourney game but i see the point you're making.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

So if BC runs the table, which certainly likes possible/probable, does the Holy Cross loss become the biggest upset in college hockey history?
Doubt it... but it certainly would rank right up there with some of the best kindling to light a fire under a team's butt. :)

Burlington is an awesome town. Looking forward to eventually doing the weekend trip again.

Oh and that should've been a two minute penalty.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

My initial thought was it should've been 2, after seeing the replay still thought it should've been 2.

Anyway Hanifin is coming next year, confirmed by the kid. Solid work by all those who refuted his report weeks ago.

Just to add to this, he reported Hanifin is taking the ACT's the weekend of March 1/2 and will take summer classes at West Roxbury. Some good digging by him on this, sounds pretty legit especially because Noah is in Massachusetts this weekend. In addition, he will be playing for the U18 NTDP team for the rest of the season. Both of which are being reported here too....

I think we should still have some caution with it. Quebec Remparts are still very much in the picture. Phillipe Boucher, the GM of the Remparts, in an interview with Jerome Berube on February 19th, a QMJHL scout for Hockeyprospect.com, was quoted in saying, "We hope to get Noah Hanifin. We have no deal right now but are talking with the family."

Anyways, it's looking about as solid as it can without it coming directly from the horse's mouth.

good weekend...another valuable test tonight in hostile environment

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

That tie felt like a loss. First time all season the team looked gassed in the 3rd. Don't know if maybe we're dinged up a bit or it was the 100º temps in Tsongas, which made for very crappy slow ice. Either way, I'll take the point and regroup for next week's finale.

Kudos to Bazin for calling timeout with 4:00 to go in the 2nd. BC had just scored two and his team looked beat. Looked like they had had enough of BC and were quitting. They righted the ship, got through the 2nd with no further damage and then came out flying in the third. Lowell turned that win into a tie, took it from us more than we coughed it up.

One more to go before trophy season. Senior night! Go Eagles!

tie doesn't really negatively impact bc though. i'm just glad they had another chance to play in that type of environment and that they responded well after lowell's surge.

notre dame may have some confidence right now and could be a preview of the quartsrfinals.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Beating Notre Dame is a must. A loss might give Minnesota the PWR #1 spot over us via record vs. common opponents.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

They kind of reminded me of the Womens game in the Olympics. After a 2-0 lead, they sort of stop playing and laid back and allow Lowell to dictate the play. They looked really passive at times during UML's comeback tie. Let this be a lesson to the players and coaches too.

i've never seen a college hockey game in such a packed venue, virtually every seat was filled and the entire concourse had people standing watching the game. The crowd of 7700, was 1000 over listed capacity of Tsongas. Good test for us is right JD. FiveHole12, the way the third went i was ok with getting out of Dodge with a point . Both streaks are intact at least for another week

Official capacity for Tsongas is actually 6079 now, so it was a little more than 25% over capacity.
