who knew gilmour and cangelosi played on the same line as gaudreau, arnold and hayes...the one trick donkey strikes again!!!

cangelosi has looked real good lately. gilmour has a great stick (not in a hoky/rogie way).

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

All things considered this was a solid win. A good 60 minute effort. They fought Lowell, they fought the officials, they beat both. Good play in all 3 zones.

If Quinn was able to put that puck past Hellebuyck and into an open net on the shorthand the place would have gone crazy. Fans love a big FU to the refs when they call a terrible penalty and then it backfires with a SHG.

Aside from two early backdoor plays that almost connected for goals, Lowell was pretty awful all night.

Cangelosi could be the X factor for this team in the postseason. He's been skating like a madman for a few weeks now and things may really blow up for him.

At some point, you'd like to see the league address their officiating problem. I've been watching for 15+ years and it's seriously getting worse and worse. Across the board, all games, BC, no BC, whatever. OK they have a bad feel for the game. That's bad. They don't know the rules. WHAT?!?!!? Yea we have a serious problem here.

edit - one more thing, you really have to appreciate the penalty killing on this team. Yeoman's work there in the 2nd period with the officials tripping on acid.

Lowell looked awful.... that made my day. Thanks for that.

Cangelosi really impressed me last weekend at UVM. The first goal he scored friday was nice and he was all over the ice. Played hard and was one of the players that really stood out to me.

Finally, the reffing has been unbelievable. Saturdays game at UVM last weekend the linesman had to ask Gravelles what to do 4-5 times. They were utterly lost out there... It has always been terrible but it seems to be getting worse game to game. The league needs to do something, its embarrassing when you play OOC opponents to have officiating like that.

Anyways, spank Lowell again tonight.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Just got home from Conte. Lowell put me to sleep last night and the cleaning crew woke me in my seat this morning. Neck is killing me. ;)

Lowell doesn't have offense. They have D and neutral zone clog, turnover and then 'every man for themself' in the offensive zone. Throw puck at net, if no easy rebound... rush as quick as possible back to neutral zone. Rinse and repeat all night long.
Power play... cross blue line, throw puck at net. No set up... just plain old throw enough crap at the net and hope something sticks.

I hope we put up a 10 spot tonight! :D

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

thought the unbeaten streak would come to an end tonight, but who knows. that was a really good win last night.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

The major against MacLeod was a travesty, but that's not the first one of those against BC this year. BC handled it as well as they could have though. Good win against a tough to play against team and it was awesome to see multiple lines getting it done on the scoreboard. Should be even tougher on the road tonight, but it's good to be playing those type of teams heading into the playoffs. Keeps the boys sharp.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

my only point about those types of plays is don't overcall it on the ice if you're unsure (which they were). unlike maine fans, i realize that if additional punishment is needed upon review, that's normal.

so call it a 2 minute penalty, fine. by all accounts there wouldn't have been anything for the league to review. case closed, move on.

It's really disturbing that something that didn't happen gets called on the ice that results in a guy being booted from the game. 2 min. minor I can deal with once in a while but you need to be **** sure of what you saw if you kick a guy out and put the entire team down a man for a game.

Conversation 1 between refs = we're blind: "I saw him hit the guy in the head". Even though it didn't happen. God help us.

Conversation 2 between refs = "Anyone see the guy get hit in the head? I think I did." Let's just take a wild guess and kick a guy out of the game.

I'm not sure which one is worse but both are unacceptable. When someone in the league starts being held accountable I'd love to see it. Time for Joe B. and the old regime to move on and get rid of the good ol' boy network of incompetent fools in the league office.

Accountability.

This is the type of defense in a game I want to see when they play a team like the Gophers who lit them up for 6 goals. If they play them again it will be an interesting rematch.

Sitting at the end of the rink by the trophy case side, I didn't see any elbows high by MacLeod and was befuddled by the call. I just don't see how you can make a call like that if you don't see it but only the aftermath. Didn't Santini get called for hitting or checking too hard this year ? ***

The season has been full of travesties on the officiating front across HE not just BC. I understand the need to limit the hitting from behind/boarding but some of these calls are just awful...

Based on the replay it appears MacLeod hit Suter with a forearm in the head. I'm not sure it deserved a five but it was contact to the head/face. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngVDHTFhA1s&feature=player_embedded

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

i've watched that numerous times/slowed it down, etc....i don't know how you can come to that conclusion. i can't tell from the quality of that video either way.

Oh come on... the video clearly shows Macleod get the arms up and make contact with the head. I would have called it a two minute minor but it was definitely contact to the head/face. You are starting to sound like you belong on the ME thread.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

ha, "clearly"? you must have a different video than the one we're talking about because there is absolutely nothing "clear" about it.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

even the lowell fan prefaced it with the word "appears"...there is nothing clear about it, however. i just don't see clear evidence he hit the guy in the head.

I think you should go get a new prescription... it doesn't get much clearer then that

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

i can say the exact same thing to you if you think it is "clear". we'll agree to disagree.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

My initial thought was it should've been 2, after seeing the replay still thought it should've been 2.

Anyway Hanifin is coming next year, confirmed by the kid. Solid work by all those who refuted his report weeks ago.

Excellent news. There seemed to be a lot of people who refused to believe there was even a chance of him accelerating. It's like nobody believes anything unless they are the one who got the scoop. Did this have anything to do with MacMaster?
