When do students go on break? Will they be around for this ND game?

Break starts at the end of this week so no, they will not be around for ND. (So BC is going to go 3 years between home games against ND with students in the building... thanks Fenway)

Regardless, the game is sold out at this point according to the ticket office.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Students were on hand for last year's game against ND. I remember some of the football players being there as well. As you said, these 4 PM Saturday games seem to always draw well regardless.

That tie felt like a loss. First time all season the team looked gassed in the 3rd. Don't know if maybe we're dinged up a bit or it was the 100º temps in Tsongas, which made for very crappy slow ice. Either way, I'll take the point and regroup for next week's finale.

Kudos to Bazin for calling timeout with 4:00 to go in the 2nd. BC had just scored two and his team looked beat. Looked like they had had enough of BC and were quitting. They righted the ship, got through the 2nd with no further damage and then came out flying in the third. Lowell turned that win into a tie, took it from us more than we coughed it up.

One more to go before trophy season. Senior night! Go Eagles!

You know anyone with an extra ticket to sell for Saturday's game ? I agree, the tie felt like a loss.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

i would agree with that, just tried thinking like a potential voter by looking at the conference stats...

and the voters will see Fitzgerald with 2 more points, lol

Wouldn't be shocked if madigan gets COY.

Anyway, they weren't going to win every game the rest of the way (not because of ZOMG they must lose so they don't feel pressure!) but a very solid weekend.

Lowell still plays that *yawn* hockey but Saturday was a fun environment.

1 game over 20 days, Christmas break 2.0

Maybe someone more creative than I can start another new witty thread.

I expect Madigan to get COY. Agree , solid weekend and have to admit, Saturday night was fun except getting out of the garage. I'd start a new thread but i could not find "start a thread" last time:mad:

so wasnt Friday's game and there was only 6400 in the building with the students not showing up like they had been all year

Cangelosi is going to pot 25-30 one year here.

The up and down play on Saturday night was *yawn* to you? You either weren't there or you're blind.

Jesus that was up and down to you? There was a whistle every 10 seconds.

I was there and am not blind tho.

Caveat: I AM blind. But I thought it was a well-played, tense game, but not exactly a thriller, style-wise. I wouldn't call it "up and down."

You don't understand. Come to every BC game for just half a season, say, October through December, and watch them play.
Then, return to watch your beloved Riverhawks play for the remainder of the season.
Then you will see where the BC fans are coming from. *yawn* ;)

Former BC recruit Sam Piazza has landed on his feet and will be attending Michigan in the fall. He was a highly touted recruit when he committed in 2010 but had major concussion issues that severely impacted his future. After going from Chicago Steel back to Wichita Falls in the NAHL, he decommitted last June.

Looks like hes made a nice recovery this season with 6g and 20a in 46 games with Wichita Falls.

Nice to hear he's recovered and is back on track.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

That is good news.
Good luck to him and I hope he has a fun and injury free career from here on out.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

and to land at michigan...i'd say he landed on his feet alright

great story

This is why I love unh-bc games. Lots of skating, passing, hockey stuff. No clogging. Just wish the cats could match the talent level more often. :(

Absolutely. And when the hits come, they are usually big, fast, open ice hits. Good stuff.

Not taking anything away from Lowell... they are a very good team and their system works very well for them. Just not the style of play we're used to seeing all the time. Well, we see it a fair amount, it's just that other teams don't execute nearly as well as Lowell so we can bust through and light the lamp. Lowell's neutral and d-zone play are exceptional, so it can be frustrating, and to us... *yawn* ;) :D

Here's another thought, and it may come across as sounding pompous, but just telling it like it is. Every game BC plays, they get that opponent's 'A' game. Sometimes that 'A' game is not nearly good enough, but most of the time it's a rough road for the Eagles to scratch out a win or a tie. This is all good as BC can't take a night off or they're toast. Also good for us fans because we get to see BC's 'A' game most every night, which is quite fun to watch. :)

As a Lowell fan I think I can say for all of us, we're never going to get a Johnny Gaudreau. Top line scorers do not go to Lowell.
We've always been a grind the opponent down kind of team and always will be. That said, watching big hits, tough D, and a team that works as hard as any team in the league, and I'd say probably harder than most, is something we've come to appreciate.
It goes without saying that anyone who appreciates college hockey would like to have a line like Gaudreau, Arnold, and Hayes, but we all know, those kinds of players only go to a small number of teams. Most times to you guys you lucky b**tards heh.
