So, for brackets we have...

West Regional - Grand Rapids (Michigan)
1. Denver v. 16. Miami
8. Boston University v. 9. Western Michigan

Northeast Regional - Manchester (New Hampshire)
2. New Hampshire v. 15. Northern Michigan
7. Penn State v. 10. St. Lawrence

East Regional - Providence (Brown)
3. Northeastern v. 14. St. Cloud State
6. Boston College v. 11. Minnesota

Midwest Regional - Toledo (Bowling Green)
4. Vermont v. 13. Colorado College
5. Holy Cross v. 12. Notre Dame

I mean we all are pretty stoked that it appears we will be the number one seed. Of course this never changes over the course of 5 months and Penn St plus Holy Cross are known shoe-ins for second seeds....So I declare the season over and the remaining schedule just a formality. :D

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

NY Islanders moving to Brooklyn to play in new Barclay's Center where Brooklyn Nets begin play this season. Islanders supposedly will finish their lease which expires in 2015 in Nassau Coliseum and then move to Brooklyn. Press conference at 1PM today at Barclay's Center. That is a big F U to Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead who have blocked owner Charles Wang's efforts to replace the aging Nassau Coliseum owned by the county. Get it ready for the wrecking ball. Matt Donovan and Scott Mayfield will have a brand new arena to play in.

Wow. Are they changing their name? Nassau was certainly a dump, but Brooklyn?

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

We'll find out at 1PM, could become the Brooklyn Islanders as they will still be on Long Island. Newsday reporting Wang is not selling the team.

Hopefully they stay the New York Islanders...Brooklyn Islanders just sounds wrong. Hockey in Brooklyn just seems wrong. I guess we should just hope that this change helps spur the team back into being a contender again.

Going to a new stadium should help them attract players who had no desire to play in the Coliseum. The Brooklyn Americans were once in the NHL. For Long Islanders it will be the same as going to Madison Square Garden as the new arena sits above Atlantic Terminal, the Brooklyn LIRR station that also serves a dozen NYC subways. It is also 10 minutes from Downtown Manhattan and 20 or so minutes to Midtown.

Even the Brooklyn Americans didn't play in Brooklyn. :p:D:D

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

Now that we have basked in the glow of 2 wins, 10 goals, Nick Shore's hat trick, Daniel Doremus' 2 goals, Rookie Nolan Zajac's 4 point weekend, and an outstanding power play, the WCHA schedule begins Friday.

Long time rival/opponent Michigan Tech comes to town after knocking off the then #1 team. This is not the Tech team of the past. Mel Pearson has revitalized the program and the team is strong with an aggressive defense. The Pios won't have an easy weekend and can't afford to take this team lightly. DU should score early and often, play very strong defense, have very good goaltending, and of course continue high performing special teams. And please no 5 minute majors and game misconduct.

Jussi Olkinuora and Larkin Jacobson will be available on Saturday and as Gwoz said will be "under consideration" to play.

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

Per Wang, no name change, no logo change.

25-year lease beginning in the 2015/16 season.

Good to hear. It will still take me awhile to get used to the fact that there will be a hockey team in Brooklyn...assuming the NHL is playing by 2015.

"Under consideration?" Now there's a classic Gwozism.
