Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

Dr Evil [du78] & family are doing well. They made it through the storm and then lost power later that morning, likely when a transformer blew out.

His neighborhood in Long Island was fine due to high elevation, except for any houses or cars that were damaged by falling trees.

He's been charging his cell phone in a car, but it has been cold in the house.

The LetsGoDU Emergency Management Agency* [LEMA] FedEx'd him a generator yesterday from Houston. UPDATE - Generator arrived

*LEMA assists college hockey fans after natural disasters.

Very nice.

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

That is spooky. Still can't find the name of that big sailing sucker I saw as a kid. The one owned by Marjorie M. Post was the Sea Cloud. 356 foot, four masted barque, with a crew of 60. Don't throw me in that briar patch. I'd live on that big beauty, like Quincy. She owned General Foods and was married to E. F. Hutton. I guess you'd call that a power couple. She was the richest woman in America for many years, worth billions.

Speaking of Marjorie Post, something rang a bell. Something abut her grandson, the son of actress Dina Merrill, and the classic white house, known as Shangri-La, located at Colorado Blvd, Leetsdale, and Bellaire. David Post Rumbough purchased the 8000 sq. ft., 13 room mansion while attending the University of Denver. Now that's what I call student housing.
On what was once Shangri-La's rolling front lawn "Cableland" was constructed by Bill Daniels. You remember him, father of cable tv, whose name graces DU's Daniels College of Business.
Small world, eh?

(David Post Rumbough died in boating accident off East Hampton in 1973. Grandmother Marjorie Post died 4 days later before Rumbaugh's body was recovered.)

Re: All Things Denver XXXIII

Tough game tonight, but I don't see it as a huge problem. Hopefully, the team learns something from it, and comes out strong tomorrow.
