Hope the "Czar" gets into this game and the rest going forward. We're gonna need his leadership and scoring. I don't know if last night was just an experiment or yet another "mesage" being sent.

Obviously, I wish DU had scored some more goals, but that was a really fun game. It has been a while since I have had that much fun at a game.

I agree. What a tremendous game tonight! DU had some quality chances in the last 30 minutes that they just didn't bury, mainly because of the excellent play of the Miami goaltender. In fact, I was a bit surprised that their goalie wasn't named MVP of the tournament as he stole that one. If DU can play with the intensity they did this evening, then we will a lot more games. Also, it was awesome that both Larazza and Zucker came back and played after both being helped off the ice without being able to put any weight on one of their legs. Phew!

And finally, games with Duper in attendance > Duperless games.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

First off, hats off to the Redhawks and their fans. They came into our building and spoiled our party by playing two nearly flawless hockey games. It was really hard on our guys to stand there and watch them take the cup during the ceremony. A lesson this team undoubtedly can use. Yep--we had lots of chances to score. Cody R was amazing in net. The first thing Gwoz said in his post game radio interview was the committee screwed up by not giving him the MVP. He was the difference.

I think in the third in a game like that, you take the penalty and wear down their top skaters instead of the shot. Miami took a second penalty shortly after. I think Gwoz was debating it when he stalled and called the ref over.

Very fun game to watch. It was the most physical I've seen us play in a long time. Bottom line we made two costly errors and Miami made us pay. Phillips getting burned for the first goal and Uce letting a softie through for the second. It will be interesting to see if Gwoz and his staff can use this loss as a teaching tool. As always the schedule is nearly perfect, having a game like this at this point in the year can be a huge benefit, if the coaching staff can use it as a leverage point. Time will tell. It's a long season.

Hope to see a large group of Pios fans down in the Springs for the game Friday. I think we can take another one from the 57 cry babies and keep that hardware in the case where it is right now. I heard that they've asked DG to sing the anthem. :-)

Thought Miami dominated the first period and DU completely dominated the final 30+ minutes. Reichard stood quite tall. Looked like Juho got a piece of the Smith goal and the Czarnik goal. He'll get better.

This weekend was but a taste of the NCHC to come. Cannot come soon enough!

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Bump!! Just read that article posted on the Denver Cup thread about the Shore bros. (some interesting typos), It would be so cool if all three of them were on the team next year, doubtful though. Isn't there one more brother?, or was that a dream?

That article left a glimmer of hope that Drew would stay for his senior year so all three could play together. IMHO Drew has been DU's best, most consistent player game in,game out. I'm sure Dineen in Florida has been getting reports.
And yes Dmann, there is a 4th brother, Baker. He is 13. Possibility that he could be a freshman when Quentin is a senior.

Chevy sent back to Gwinnett from Portland by Coyotes.

Tyler Bozak with 2 goals in last night's 5-2 Leafs' win over Ducks. He now has 11 point in last 9 games and is centering the Leafs' #1 line even with Connolly back from injury. Joe Colborne had an assist on Joey Crabb's goal last night. Joe with 4 points (1g, 4 a) in 5 games since his call-up.

DU drops 1 place to #11 on INCH. Miami went up 3 to #16.

Leafs call the Lupul-Bozak-Kessel line the Twitter line.
I call the Crabb-Colborne-Frattin the WCHA line.:)

This is awesome. Glad to see Bozak getting into his groove. And Bozak and Colborne on the same team, both producing? Pretty cool to see.
