Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Just saw this:
Bozie42 Tyler Bozak
Congrats to frat party on his first NHL goal tonight. Well deserved. Not to forget my boy jumbo joe with the setup #dunodakconnection

Speaking of Colborne, his speed is noticeably improved. He looks like he can keep up in the NHL which is great news, and he’s shielding the puck like never before. Colborne is fantastic at extending his arms down low and holding out the puck just long enough to suck in the opposition before he dishes it off. It creates a lot of space and causes a lot of mismatches. Don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but when he’s eventually playing with Kessel and Lupul, just the mere thought of him putting pucks on a platter for those two guys is tantalizing.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

I know taking shots at one of the teams biggest talents isn't going to make me very popular on the boards. Actually, I never have been and I'm not going to start striving for that now. First off, I'd agree you BBM that he's most likely one of the most talented kid on the team (this is a big honor on team a as talented as the Pios are) The whole team was clutching their sticks while Beau was out. We played like crap against Tech and UMD. When Beau returned everyone seemed to relax and get back to their ability level accept for Jason. He continues to clutch his stick. I didn't say anything about his work ethic. I think this season he is not playing to his ability level. He is holding the puck too long and staying out on the ice much longer than he should. Last year, when he was taking stupid penalties (which he has a tendency to do) coach sat him down for a good part of a game. I think it was very effective in getting his attention. So far this season IMO Beau is smoking him in effectiveness. I think Jason can rebound but I think it will take some redirection from the coaching staff. He's showing signs of immaturity and I think Gwoz can help him. I know a lot of people will think I'm crazy for saying all this. I saw him be way more effective on the ice last year, versus what I've seen so far this year.

Last year Jason was named WCHA Rookie of the Year. He tallied 45 points on 23 goals and 22 assists. He ranked second in the nation in rookie scoring at 1.12 points per game. This past weekend he had a goal and 2 assists. Against CC he had a goal and an assist. I’m not seeing his effort or production dropping off.

I'm obviously a CC fan but I love BBM. You go girl! Please keep on keeping on. :) These @ZZholes need to be kept in check. These clown love to hate and it makes me sick.

I'll add this - BigBossMan has 2 words for haters!

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Just listened to Gwoz"s radio show. Ryder has a fractured patella:eek: out until January or ?
And "thinks" Murray is out for awhile.
Juho and Zack Hope are now DU's only healthy goaltenders.

DU picks up another 2013 recruit, Penticton's Cody DePourcq. DU beat out UND and Minnesota for this forward from Penticton, BC. Minnesota recruiting in Canada???? Armageddon must be upon us. ;)  Mario Lucia, son of The Don, plays for the team and probably needs to work on his recruiting skills. ;)

http://letsgodu.blogspot.com/2011/11/pentictons-cody-depourcq-commits-to-du.html

I heard Hammy say on the GPL Podcast that the Gophers cooled in their pursuit of this kid. He's a smaller kid, and we have plenty of smaller, skilled forwards coming in (Cammarata, Guertler, Kloos, Reilleys). Likely we're looking for more size up front at the moment (ahem... Paging Mr. Fasching).

And it wouldn't have been the first time tDon recruited in Canada (see Kris Chucko and Peter Kennedy). He just doesn't do it very often.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Ostrow, most improved so far, LaLeggia, top performing Freshman. Discuss!!!

I think the awards are spot on. Shawn has really come on lately. He has confidence and understands the pace/flow of the college game. Joey is fun to watch. He is comfortable and able anywhere on the ice. I think he'll end up being a key contributor on the PP.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Anyone know where Luke was tonight?

He was a "healthy scratch". Is it me or does Salazar always seem to be in Gwoz's doghouse?

Other thoughts, when you look at the box score it is clear the stars were out to play last night. Shore, Shore, Zucker, Bennett, LaLeggia. And how about that assist from LaRazza??? He's gonna be something special. Granted, we beat a team that has only scored 19 goals this year, but their defense is stingy!! I feel really good about the "Finnish Fence" (that's my nickname for him and I'm sticking to it), he was awesome!!, quick, no rebounds, alert. We just have to pray he stays healthy until January. Then what?, what becomes of Murray?

Discuss!!!

Tonight is Gwoz's 1000 game as a head coach. A big W would be a good way to commemorate this milestone.
