Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Well, as we have found out on many occasions, seed matters not in the NCAA tourney.
Agreed. Especially since non of the regionals are in places where we are likely to travel well. If there was a regional fairly close, I would say being a 1 or 2 seed would be good in hopes of getting to play near home.

That said, it is still possible to be a 1 seed, according to Pairwise Predictor.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

In all seriousness, tomorrow should be a great game, and another great showcase of the kind of hockey we can look forward to in the National. Hopefully it's another classic like last year, and if the result were to stay the same...I'd be okay with that too. :)

I pos repped the guy and we have met before. No biggie.

It's all about the bracket draw. Last year we got the green shaft. This year with 3 other big drawing wcha teams in we're most likely headed east again. What was up with Gwoz saying he might play Adam tomorrow? Does anyone believe that **** at all?

Also agreed. And theoretically we might be less likely to get scrooged with a better seed, but the draw is out of the team's hand.

Seeding, in college hockey, is a purely paper process. It doesn't really matter what the seed is. It all just boils down to this: "Ya gotta beat who you play." A 1 seed hasn't really benefited us in the past. Go try to predict the college hockey bracket based on seeds. You will be disappointed. There exists a lot of parity in our sport and seeding matters not. Just get in it to win it -- I think Gwoz even said that about the Final Five. ;)

Yeah, I really do agree. I guess my inarticulate point was that, if getting a 1 or 2 seed might get us close to home where a few thousand people might make the drive to watch, that would be one thing. Still not much. but something (think Michigan at Yost in 2002). But since that isn't a possibility, I have one hope: that we are seeded no worse than 4. So I think we're in good shape.

To address the conditioning of the team and playing 6 games in 9 days, I posted this on DG's blog:

In being a former NCAA D-I athlete myself, I really don't worry about the conditioning of these guys or whether or not they have anything left in the tank. After rehydrating and sucking down some serious protein and carbs, they will be good to go. Their bodies thrive on this. They will have had over 24 hours to recover and will be fine.

The one aspect of this team now that stands out to me most is the relentless pursuit of the win. The have overcome long odds of late in games to win. They are experienced, the frosh are now sophs in reality and the team works well together. NCAAAs are all about winning like the last 3 games. We are very well prepared for the upcoming challenges.

I had given you the benefit of the doubt, that mexico stole your identity on DUmien's blog and posted this. Now my hunch is that you're just trying to get another quote added to my list.

I think its the right thing to do putting Murray in.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Do we have to be careful about what "politically incorrect" terms we can use when describing the sioux?

Yes.

Allowable terms to call UND:
1) The highest of high, greatest of great
2) The best of the best
3) The worthiest of the worthy, the rest bow in your presence
4) The team most fierce, most desirable, most excellent
5) The University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux

:p:D:D

It is quite funny how CC fans share the common behavior of frequently turning whatever phrase into gay sexual innuendo. Is it because you all belong to the famous Colorado Springs cult that is Focus on the Family?

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Unfortunately not on the list.

So, Juho (pronounced you 'ho, or "The 'Ho") is in the net tonight for the Pios? They should have gone with Murray for the trifecta...

Since Jussi, pronounced "you'-see" basically saved our season, I think Gwoz is going to give him this game as a reward.
