Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Here's we go again: another "must win" weekend. Let's hope this one turns out a little better than the last one.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

You just won the caption contest.

It's too bad that you and SUX14ers burned all of the photos from your escapades down on Colfax when you were in college. Those pics would make for a great caption contest... It's been a little while and I forgot your nicknames. Was Old P nicknamed Hoover or Kirby?

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Drew Shore now tied with Jack Connolly of UMD and Austin Smith of Colgate with 35 points for the national scoring race. He is 2 points behind Connolly for the WCHA scoring race.

DU #4 nationally in offense and #33 in defense. Defensively DU has improved from #40 in the 2nd half.

If anyone is interested I have tickets for sale for saturday's game. The tickets are in section 1 row 4. They are right behind both benches and actually in the first row of the section. You also are right next to the tunnel for the away team. The face value is $28/ each so make your best offer.

Unacceptable!

With all the focus on JZ's spectacular play and the absense of Beau, Drew's "quietly" having a terrific season. With much more to come.

Just saw on the DU website that Drew wont play tonight. Listed as having an upper body injury. UC in net.

While I would usually fall in line with the notion of anyone not showing up as being an unacceptable occurrence...tonight is an exception. If DU has 2000 I will be shocked, I will be pleased with 1500 but expect around 1000...I hope I am wrong but I truly think we will have our smallest crowd since the years of playing McNichols and the Coliseum while awaiting Magness/Ritchie to be completed. It is what it is and you can't fight The Tebow nor Broncomania...I will be there, but spending as much time as I can in front of the lobby TV's. I'm completely torn in half about tonight's sporting events, but I have my DU commitments which mean a heckuva lot to me...

GO DU!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!

Look. Coming from someone who has worked Colfax under the name "Chastity" for as long as you have, I would expect you to be a little more soft-handed in your allegations. I will still pimp you and Tig out, but you just have to pull more than $5/trick...you just do -- Or I can't provide the protection I currently do for you pansies. Show off your "camel toe" more or something but I just can't hold your corner of the Fax for much longer if you can't pull in the $$$ like you should. In other words, mexico, WORK IT GIRL...

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

With Drew being out tonight UC and the D are going to have to be nearly perfect to get the sweep.

And it's not just in Denver. The regular season finale was the highest rated game of the season. Last week's wildcard game was the highest rated ever. And tonight's game will similarly be a ratings monster. Back in the day, when the Broncos were in the AFL and playing in a minor league baseball stadium, the Phipps brothers made it clear (with threatening billboards) if attendance didn't improve, they'd move the team. Hard to imagine, but true.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Solid weekend for the Pios with the sweep of BSU. The bye week next weekend couldn't come at a better time. Looks like Larraza has a slight concussion per Gwoz. Sam and Ryder should be back for UAA. Knowlton played on a sore ankle tonight. Drew out with a lower body injury tonight. Hopefully everyone is healthy for the UAA series leaving Beau as the only one not available to play. He is out til mid to late February.

DU up to 14 in PWR, that puts DU likely back in the tourney. Need to keep the winning streak going.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Great effort this weekend. Got the must sweep over a hard working BSU team. Real gut check win tonight. Gwoz was as happy as I've heard him all year after the game and he actually showed emotion on the bench at the buzzer with a rarely sighted fist pump!

The second was rough tonight--Beavers out shot DU 10-5 and at times the Pios looked sluggish. Power play looked down right ugly at times but still managed to finish 2-4 tonight and 3-8 on the weekend. Playing with 4 D men in the 2nd and 3rd was rough. My favorite guy :) #17 stepped up and played his most mature game of the season. Got give him the credit. The pass to Chris was perfect and 11 buried it. LaLeggia with three assists tonight and a goal and assist last night (got the second star tonight) is really coming together. He has the potential to be something special as does UC. I honestly think he deserves to hold the #1 spot right now.

Cool to hear the stuff Gwoz and Rycroft were saying about Knowlton's work ethic/character since he came back to school in October. Let's hope Drew can recover quickly. Hoosier Pio said he saw him walking around before the game and that he was moving around fine. Let's also hope that the doctors can figure out what is going on with #10's headaches.

Loved having Derek Shepard back in the house this weekend. We hadn't seen him in a long time. He missed two holding calls in the second but made up for one in the third. He's a bit of a buffoon but for some reason I can just laugh at him, whereas Anderson makes me got all hot under the collar.

CC falls to the Cloudies in OT after coming back from being down 3-1 and fall from 6th to 14th in the PWR tied with the Pios. Christmas in January! CC fans have got to be questioning Scottie for going back to "spread your five-hole Howe" again.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

Great sweep this weekend. Last night especially. When you win after losing the amount of players that Denver has lost...it shows a lot of guts and grit.

Also, Oki again with a big performance. He has taken his chance to play and made us proud. Recruiting find of the year in my mind.

Re: All Things Denver XXXII

DU really needed 4 points. . .and got 'em. It wasn't pretty. And more people got hurt. But they got the sweep. Hats off to a bunch that refused to lose.

You guys have no clue how frustrating this home stand was. Thorny has been playing so well lately but Owens keeps sneaking Howe out there for no reason. Howe makes everything look so difficult. Then it appears Owens draws names out of a hat to fill out the lineup. Then during the games this weekend, Owens only really used 3 defensemen. It makes no sense. Add in the Broncos loss yesterday... sigh. It's been a long weekend.

I think it has been a frustrating season for CC and DU this season. Both teams are not living up to expectations at this point.
