Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Former DU player Joe Casey passed away suddenly over the weekend at 37. Pneumonia is suspected. He played Friday night in a game for Jackson Hole in the senior league and had 2 assists. He is a forward originally from Colorado Springs and played at DU from 1996/97 - 1999/00.

The DU coaches loved Joe because he he was a heart & soul player who had a great attitude.

Best of all, he was another in a long line of recruits we stole from right under CC from Colorado Springs.

RIP to a great pioneer. Remember watching him, he never quit.

Drew Shore, the 22-year old Panthers rookie center has been settling in nice with the Panthers. He has recorded an assist in each of his last two games played, along with 19 shots on goal and a 60.7 face-off winning percentage, in seven games played since being recalled from San Antonio.

I checked out a Cutthroats game last night. I swear there weren't more than 200 people in the stands. It was a good time, though. I'd like to go to more games; I hope they hang around. (Oh, and the team lost 3-2 in a shootout, but Gabe Gauthier got an assist on the first Denver goal. At one point, Luke Fulghum and Brandon Vossberg were both in the penalty box. :))

Vossberg was waived by the Cutthroats earlier today.

Storm has started here, right now a mix of snow and rain, expecting 14 inches and blizzard conditions as the day goes on. Worst is supposed to be tonight when the winds reach 60 MPH. Hopefully I don't lose power.

New D recruit for next season

Winter Storm Warning here in SoCal--rain is expected! OMG is cloudy and drizzly now!:rolleyes:

Make sure the pantry and wine cellar are stocked and stay safe.

BTW A "Bozakian" shorty last night, followed by Frattin and then Kessel scored his 1st of the year, the GWG.
Looked like a WCHA All Star Game;)

Getting tied by CC at home to "capture the coveted Gold Pan" reminds me of Will Cuppy's essay on Hannibal: "Whenever a thousand or so of his men would fall off an Alp, he [Hannibal] would tell the rest to cheer up, the elephants were all right."
