Just listened to the Gwoz weekly presser. He talked with the team yesterday about the standings and PWR and how tight the WCHA race is. Let them know that a good weekend helps them tremendously and a bad weekend hurts. Wanted to make the team aware of how crucial the last 10 games are especially the freshmen. The team needs to get better defensively. He feels it is more of an attitude thing as opposed to an X's and O's thing. Thought having last weekend off helped the team get through the flu bug that has gone through the team. Did not make any mention of the goalie situation for this weekend. Thinks UMD is playing extremely well and presents a great challenge for DU this weekend.

I know there are a lot of freshman on this team, but is it possible that some of the upperclassmen just don't care at this point? This squad reminds me a lot of the 06-07 squad (the likes of Veideman, Dingle, Corbin, May) that had its moments but the effort wasn't there night in and night out. And as a result...no NCAAs.

Thoughts?

Roger Goodell is looking into the situation and told Donovan he'd like to meet with him on Thursday... on Saturday, and again next Monday

Certainly hope you're wrong.
The big difference I see is that the upperclassmen back then already had a NCAA Championship ring(s).

Here's Dono's hit on Drew Shore which won him the lucky $100. Per the coach, the boys put up the $100 not him.

Per Chambers, Jussi in goal on Friday and Jarrod Mermis still on leave of absence. Same 18 will skate against UMD.

IMHO:
  • Last weekend Sam didn't do anything to knock Jussi out as #1 goalie.
  • I doubt we see Mermis the rest of this season; and next season is questionable.
  • This is the first year Patrick Wiercioch has not looked skinny or at best quite slim.
