Will do sir, just heard Drew may be a scratch tonight but will be in tomorrow. We will find out in a few minutes.

Edit: Drew not listed on line-up. Wiercioch in Ottawa's line-up.

Wiercioch may stick, he's looked good. In other news, isles fans are calling for a Donovan call up....this may be big year for former Pios!

Patrick with his second apple in 2 games, OTT 1 FL 0 late in 1st

I would expect Dono to be called up at some point this season.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Gwoz just confirmed in his weekly press conference that Drew will make his debut for Florida in Montreal tonight. He heard from Drew about 45 minutes ago confirming that he will play tonight.

Other notes from presser:
Team needs to play better defensively in all 3 zones. Said Jussi and Sam kept DU in the games early but DU could never get any sustained attack going as they didn't have much control of the puck. SCSU dominated the possession of the puck which resulted in few offensive opportunities.
The flu hit the team hard last week and continues to affect it. The team did not practice yesterday and will not practice today. Probably a good time for a break. They will get back at it tomorrow to prepare for UMD in 2 weekends.

Cullen of TSN takes notice of Patrick Wiercioch:

A second-round pick in 2008, D Patrick Wiercioch had been underwhelming in his first couple pro seasons, scoring 38 points with a minus-28 rating in 124 games with Binghamton of the AHL, but the 22-year-old took a major step forward during the lockout, putting him in position to win a job on a Senators blueline that opened up due to Jared Cowen's hip surgery.
In 32 AHL games this season, Wiercioch scored 10 goals and 19 points and was plus-10, a marked improvement over his first two pro seasons, and he's put up a couple of assists in the first two NHL games this season. He doesn't play a lot (12:28 per game), but 6-foot-4 Wiercioch has size and skill to eventually move into a more significant role for the Senators.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Drew Shore with face time in the opening of the FL/MTL game. He will be on the 3rd line tonight. Game is on NHL Center Ice for free.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Drew had 2 shots in 14 shifts and 9:28 of play last night and was even. Looked like he was working hard and playing well. He has the first game under his belt and hopefully many more to come.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Wiercioch gets some attention in Fantasy hockey:

KEEP AN EYE ON ...

Patrick Wiercioch, Senators -- This 6-foot-5 puck mover will get every opportunity to earn a regular spot in the Senators lineup. He is currently getting 12:28 TOI per night and has already notched two assists, five shots on goal and one power-play point. Keep an eye on him, as he could find ways to be productive as the opposition focuses on shutting down Karlsson and Sergei Gonchar.

:o Finally found NHL Center Ice on my Cable--Bozak in tonight

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Go Bozak! I read some rumors from time to time about potential trades involving Bozak, Luongo, Kyle Turris, etc. Don't know if they have any truth to them.

No one is going to be getting Turris now. He's off to a great start.

Kyle Turris as you know went to Maine. He only lasted one year, but within that short time period, he was very active around the state. He came to my town and gave a week long clinic to a bunch of little tikes. Now those same kids are 10-0 and ranked #1 in class B hockey!!

Folks on Toronto keep saying the Leafs need a #1 Centre. What they forget is Kessel likes playing with Bozak and Bozak talks to the press so Kessel won't have to. (Interviews with Kessel are monosyballic) Lupul and Kessel both had banner years with Bozie in the Centre. Bozie's face-off percentage is usually above 60%.

Not to say Bozie wouldn't be included in a trade, but he is not the liability Leaf fans seem to assume.

PS. Kessel and Bozie are golfing partners :)

Turris went to Wisco actually, only for a year though. Are you thinking of Nyquist maybe?

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Also back in their BCHL days, Bozak beat Turris in their last year for the league scoring title.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Bozie with another goal tonight and now has 2 goals and 1 assist in 3 games for the Leafs.

Re: All Things Denver-The Real XXXIV

Okay, totally embarrassed about last night's post. It was Ted Purcell!! (because that sounds so much like Kyle Turris!!). I need to learn how to not drink and post!!!

Anyway, he was a good guy, I wonder what became of him?
