Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Re: Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Just pray we don't get Hunt, Anderson, Adam, Thul, Mason, or Campion.

Haha I'm not worried about that, we almost always get the low seniority guys for this series.

Re: Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Not seeing alot of UAA fans in the stands. I am only seeing two people in Seawolves jerseys in the stands..the student section is packed, more than I've seen in a few seasons!

Seawolves have a player in Gunderson. That kid has stood on his head several different times so far.

Are you kidding me....pulled goalie with 6 minutes to go? What the hell is Shyiak thinking? He just gave the game away.

4-1 Nooks. I have always liked Shyiak...but that was just an odd move. Gave the game away. Amazing....horrible move. Go Nooks.

It paid off for us for a previous game (regular season conference game, can't remember which one). But in a series where goals against can potentially be the deciding factor then its a pretty stupid move. If goal differential weren't the deciding factor, like a conference game, then so be it but this series can't afford something like that.

I'll say he made some awesome saves but he also let in more then a couple that he shouldn't have. I've said all along that we don't have standout goalie yet with either freshman. I'd say Gunderson is a bit more on top of it then Kamal has shown but he showed tonight that he can't always play with even a mediocre team. I wouldn't give him the start tomorrow.

That was an...odd game. UAF was pretty sloppy for two and a half periods, then two goals in 5 seconds followed by a bizarre Shyiak move? Not to mention UAA scoring 25 seconds into the game after Greenham apparently decided to take a late pregame nap.

But I'll take a 5-1 win anytime over anybody. That it's
against Anchorage is that much better.

I'll admit I posted that before he let in 2 goals in five seconds, but he still made some great saves.

As much as I like Shyiak's aggression, I think it got the best of him tonight. Really weird move to pull that goaltender with so much time left.

Never been very consistent bringing many people here in any numbers. Air deals, hotel deals: nothing seems to cut it to get people up here. More then a little pathetic but seeing as we can't even get students to our own games then I'm not all that surprised.

Seemed like there were a few more empty seats then a typical Governors Cup game. Did the snow and wind keep people home?

It may have been the wind and snow, but overall the seasons attendance hasn't been that great...4,039 people at the game which was probably a season high.

Should be an interesting game tomorrow, players seemed to be getting a little emotional tonight!

Not sure about anyone else, but the snow and white out conditions at our house kept us from going. We usually don't miss many games. With our truck in the shop, and only our little sedan for wheels, we opted to not make the 37 mile drive in. Sounded like 500 short of a sell out.

Attendance has been down since last year....not sure why....maybe people want to see more goals. Defense wins games, but casual fans like to see the lamp lit.

First off Goals Against have no bearing in this series. We win tomorrow, we got a shootout.

Second he had to, his team was playing like absolute **** and needed some kind of wake up call. I don't blame Shyiak for anything. Gutsy move coach. Problem is the team *ing blew it. Granted, they blew it pretty much all night. I don't know what happen to this team but they absolutely sucked tonight. Defense couldn't hold on to the puck, offense had nothing going, PP absolutely sucked, if it wasn't for Fairbanks playing bad for 2 and half periods and Gundy that game would've been 7-1. WAKE THE * UP UAA! THIS IS THE GD GOVERNOR'S CUP! SHOW UP AND *ING PLAY!
