You know when someone makes an argument and is proven wrong but they keep trying to find ways they could be right or that they are wrong for different reasons they couldnt control? That is what corporate media is going through right now in real time.

I still don't get how they think the math makes sense that he is literally gaining no voters even in their own polling, and Harris is adding people and stealing people from him again in almost all polling yet we are supposed to believe it is tied?

They can deny it all they want to but the data doesn't match the conclusions. I mean I get they are ignoring the Dobbs Effect but at this point...

For once Chuck Todd said something almost correct when discussing the Iowa Poll. He talked about why Selzer is usually right (because she ignores previous outcomes and just looks at what is in front of her) and yet he still basically fell back on previous outcomes to back up the conclusion that it is a dead heat. He of course did no real analysis since he didn't really look at the data in the poll outside the headline...because if he did he would realize that women are doing all of this.

Its an even dumber version of the mistakes they made 2 years ago. At least then they just ignored the follow up questions to "what is your most important issue" and herded around junk polls to come up with an outcome. Now they are ignoring that for the majority of voters Women's Health Care is far and away the most important issue and pretending that since the White Men they interviewed care about Immigration and some Minority Men probably said the Economy, and that historically women vote on those issues as well, that those are the issues the majority of the electorate care about. It isn't...and the fact that they refuse to see the flashing red sign in their face is why they will all look stupid when it is all said and done.

Either that...or we were screwed no matter what happened.

They treat polls as if they are the standings, and then the standings "change" when the next poll comes out. We have all been obsessing about this stuff for 25 years, and a major outlet still doesn't understand a basic principle that is covered on the first day of a survey course about sampling.

Well it is possible they understand it they just know most viewers don't so they treat polls like the average rube does. Easiest way to get ratings is to tell the viewers what they want to hear...

Of course I am old enough to remember when the News actually cared about educating the populace on what was happening in the world so I am just yelling at clouds I guess.
 
A fellow teacher whose mother works at a courthouse in small town Minnesota just said they are upping security tomorrow because The Sovereign Citizens are making threats. There are more people in my neighborhood than in the entire county that town is in and it hasnt gone Blue since Carter yet the DONT TREAD ON ME crowd is worried about people rigging votes there?

And of course my question is always...if the Government has zero authority over you as you say, why do you care who wins the election?

He keeps saying that...threatening that he is going to go after her because she was mean to him and he was nothing but nice to her. (I must have been asleep that day)

I get that his droolers laugh when he says that because they hate her...but either [bleep] or get off the pot. (his advisors have to be begging him not to) I highly doubt anything you say about her is going to be all that creative and she isn't even going to notice you said anything.

Can't say that when there is time to get commercials out to make her look anti-Israel. Not that she will be able to affect any of this since the US isn't going to stop defending Israel, and Bibi isn't going to stop the war because that is the only thing that keeps him in power.

Yeah...and the problem is she is still Veep so taking hardline stances against current policy is a double edged sword. And well, even just refusing to show up when Bibi spoke brought about backlash. The truth is it is a no win situation which is also why Bibi is doing it.

I am glad she said it now, and I agree couldn't do it earlier it just friggin sucks. As a Jew who supports Palestine it is horrid to watch the games that have to be played. Saying it in person and then letting the local media and politicos talk about it for the next two days is way more effective IMHO so politically speaking yes it was smart. Is it enough...we will find out tomorrow.

I have faith...
 
Watching an interview with Dave Weigel and as they are talking about the Right Wing Bubble that conservatives live in he mentioned the Joe Biden "garbage" comment that had mookie so up in arms. Well as we know the Right is co-opting it wearing trash bags and getting all huffy. Well when say, Puerto Ricans were asked about it by pollsters they heard nothing about it all they heard was Trump's comment and they took him driving that garbage truck around Green Bay as him doubling down on it making the insult worse.

So the amazing dynamic of that whole thing is not only are they keeping the MSG rally debacle front and center because to even talk about Biden's comment you need to reference the original insult but since most people don't even realize Biden said anything since he isn't the candidate all of these old white d-bags dressing up like garbage (and Trump and Vivek cosplaying as garbage men) looks like a lot of people poking fun of and spitting in the face of Puerto Rico.

And remember, people who have yet to vote (Christmas Eve Voters as some call them) tend to be the ones who see stuff like this as bad. That is why smart campaigns don't rock the boat...last second deciders can often be fickle and this is the stuff that really causes them to choose. So while Trump is seemingly tripling down on bigotry Harris just keeps saying the same boring stuff that starts to resonate because gas prices are staying low and so on. (polling showed Harris pulled even on the economy which is rather astounding) Also, Puerto Ricans havent early voted according to many so...

Again, I am not saying she has it locked, in fact far from it. But it is starting to look like if she doesn't win with all of this then there is no one who could have won and no amount of money or effort would have changed that...and I just don't believe that is the case.
