2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

It's no reason to panic, because nothing ever is. But it is disconcerting, knowing just how easily many voters are swayed by superficialities.

I think if Biden said "although I am fit to serve, I understand that people are concerned, and this election is too important to allow those concerns to permit this assault on democracy to succeed and therefore I withdraw from running again," he would go down as a Cincinnatus who put our country first. And I think that would cook The Convict, as all the GOP has is all the anti-Biden narratives.

Biden has been around so long he is uniquely vulnerable, like the Clintons. I am not saying he needs to go because he is unfit. I am saying elections are marketing competitions, and a young, fresh candidate who continues Biden's excellent policies with vigor would be unbeatable.

Who that is? Whitmer, Buttigieg, Beshear, Shapiro are all good choices. IMO Newsom is a trap. And Fetterman obviously is a goner.

In my dream world, Al Franken jumps off the bench and saves the world.

The real key to telling who a person is, is who they offer up as the likely replacement. If it's not Harris, you can be pretty confident in what they're really saying.

What are you insinuating?

Hypothetically, if Biden had to drop out for some x, y or z reason…. Is Harris the choice who gives the Dems the best shot at winning?

Is Roy Cooper still popular in his home state? Could he finally turn NC blue?

Like Swan said, Biden drops out, it’s Harris. Anyone else and we lose by double digits. Al Franken? lol.

Have you people not seen Singles? We’re all jaded and live in Seattle. We’re not changing the world.

Its one of my favorite movies! Then again I am Elder Gen X so...

BTW if you want to feel a bit better watch the speech Biden gave today in Raleigh...he is friggin ticked off. (he is also coughing a lot so the cold spin makes sense) He basically attacked every lie Trump told on the stage (unlike say...CNN) and really went on the offensive. Even took a few shots at himself which went over well with the crowd. Someone must have gotten him his Mountain Dew ;)

Franken is 73 years old...come on man.

Harris we lose by double digits.

Anyone but Biden, and Trump is president.

I can’t say I disagree with either sentence. I wholeheartedly agree with the second sentence, because I’m not the one comparing Biden to Cincinnatus. No. He’s Neo, motherf-ckers.

*puts on my best Craig Ferguson voice*

they're racists

and yea, that's how this works unless you want to alienate the most ardent and loyal democratic voting block in history.

joe ain’t dropping, and nobody gonna make him drop. All the power slots are in their positions cause Joe put them there. Joe goes, and they go. And there are only so many rotating analyst jobs at msnbc.

I know he isn't going. I'm saying if he went we would win, if we ran anybody except Hillary or Tim Kaine.

With anyone other than Harris we lose by double digits

I started this meme. But Dobbs changed it. That made Black Women more Woman than Black. Any relatively young, fiercely pro-choice candidate would beat The Rapist. Big bonus points if a woman. Hue is optional.

Harris is a zero but I assume she can win, too. But if we are going to do that then Joe should step down now and vest her with the power of incumbency.

This will not happen, unless Biden gets sick. Then I think we would see a rallying around Harris as non-sociopaths have a good heart and want people to succeed in tough situations.
