2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Re the Mar-A-Lago Meltdown: Time to bring back a meme from the election 60 years ago:
"In your guts, you know he's nuts!"

If they're breating they're cheating:

5 alarm fire for democracy in Georgia: MAGA majority on state election board laying groundwork not to certify election if Trump loses again. They’re telegraphing exactly how they're planning to try to steal the election this time

Usha Vance: My husband didn't mean to belittle every childless person, just the ones who willfully choose not to have kids.

Oh, OK. That makes his "childless cat ladies" remark so much better.

Here's an idea. Someone should ask Usha what she thinks of the hillbillies her husband purports to represent, who don't approve of her husband's interracial marriage to her.

She called Kamala a DEI hire so I doubt she cares. She is a horrid person.

In the past week, the focus for the GQP has already shifted from winning the election, to Plan B - floods of social media disinfo, voter suppression, lawfare via corrupt MAGA judges, and ultimately attempted theft.

This is why voter turnout needs to be overwhelming.

When it comes to the wives of Republican pols in this day and age, it's likely safe to assume, "Birds of a feather, flock together" applies. As they have become more sociopathic and loathsome with each passing year, it's natural their spouses would trend that way as well. Who else is going to marry these asswipes and squeeze out their spawn except fellow bigots, gold diggers, and attention seekers?

Diaper Donnie had to land in billings instead of Bozeman. He called the nyt and threatened to sue them over their coverage of his deranged rant and says he has proof that Willie brown was in a helicopter with him

Per Maggie: “When asked to see the records, Trump responded mockingly, in a sing-song, childlike voice, repeating the question”
lmao

I didn't even think of that. Christ. You're right. I vaguely recall that tipping point at roughly 7, in general. But obviously it depends on each district. I just remember +7 as a line where it's like a titration and you just fall off a ledge.

I remember 7, too. So either folie a deux or that's it.

Lawrence O'Donnell agrees with you. Very rare to hear a media member hammer his colleagues like this...

Lawerence O'Donnell is like 75% of the reason I'm a liberal today. During my righty years I'd watch him and get really frustrated that I couldn't square what he said and what I believed. Meaning, he presented really good arguments and I couldn't return them in my mind.

anyways, he's good, he's right, and goddamnit, good for him for calling out his own network.

So one of the 5-4/ALAB guys ran the numbers on the WA primary for all house races and it came to D+19.6. That's like, way beyond D+5 territory.

wait: D+7.5. Fuck.

A lot of weird rumors out there...take them all with a grain of salt the size of Trump's ego but don't be surprised if Texas and Florida are closer than you expect for different reasons.

Florida: apparently the internal polling from GOP operatives is getting scary. Majority of it backed by the abortion rights bill which if the election was today would not be close. Apparently to the GOP operatives the media type talked they are expecting it to seriously drag down everything. I have heard these things before so I'm skeptical but they are scared.

Texas: RFK Jr on the ballot is causing issues. Mainly due to some schmucks like Tim Pool and Joe Rogan who are now apparently supporting him. They have a lot of fans in TX (Joe lives there) and RFK is going to steal votes from Trump. Now personally I don't think it will be enough but that Press Conference has spooked people.

In other news polling in Nevada is going the right way. Last I saw it was Harris +5 in the 2 way, +4 in the threeway. And Arizona seems to be going well as well.

Means nothing...but I like trends.

Looks like all the GOP has to go against Walz is military service. CNN had his former direct report on who is still mad Walz apparently went above him to secure retirement.

Can you imagine the epic temper tantrum meltdowns we're gonna see as we get closer and closer to election day.
