I know a handful of non-insanoids from Florida and they've been trying to convince us for a year that Desantis wasn't legit. Maybe we could have listened? Well whatever. He bent the knee and endorsed Trump as expected. And for a few minutes we can enjoy dancing on the grave of his hilariously inept candidacy.

I will say what I said when rumors started he would run...he is a full on nobody to anyone outside of Florida. Now everyone knows him sure because he has been in the spotlight, but before that most people ignored his performative theater stuff like declaring war on Di$ney even though they donated to his campaign...

As I said then he should not ruin his career chances running in this election. Trump highlights everything wrong with him and shines a light on it. He has 0 charisma, sounds like a whiny child when he talks and is just awkward even when he is in friendly situations. You can't run against Trump for the GOP ticket with that kind of Q score. He may have had a chance if he did what conventional wisdom said and not tried to out MAGA the king but he was too stupid and arrogant not to try that and now he has likely burned his one chance at being President running in an unwinnable election. He doesn't have the abilities to recover from this debacle. I mean he didn't even make it to New Hampshire...

Interesting how everyone is lining up behind Trump and kissing the ring. Meanwhile, Sununu who apparently backs Nikki is going out of his way to say that he will vote for Trump if he is the nominee and makes sure to tell everyone that Biden is the cause of everything that is wrong in the World.

I've heard this narrative over and over again.
 
Yeah, but it's bullsh-t. It's "negative partisanship." They don't say "I love Coke." They say "I hate Pepsi." But they still buy Coke, every time.

In the 2000s, Independents were
  • 70% Libertarian Republicans who were too cool to call themselves Republican, except they voted Republican in every election, unless a transcendent nutbar like Ron Paul or Pat Buchanon was running as an Independent,
  • 30% Democratic Socialists who were too cool to call themselves Democrats, except they voted Democratic every election, if they voted, which was only about half the time.
I wonder if that breakdown still holds?

Fun fact: I am the only person I know of who went from being a Third Party Absolutist who would never lower himself to voting for a major party, to a straight ticket major party voter (in self-defense against the Fasc).

How irate is the MSM going to be after Haley drops out tomorrow and their quadrennial money maker that is the "Presidential Primary Horse Race" ends on 1/24?

They'll just start the general horse race earlier, with breathless articles about how Dump leads Biden by double digits in polls conducted at Bingo night in retirement communities.

I did as well. (I voted for Nader!) I would never identify as a Dem until 2006 and now I vote straight ticket.
