2023 SUNYAC Offseason..Pick-ups,subtractions,etc etc...

Transferred to Endicott, Big Player-Big Loss. Interested to see how they do this weekend against two UCHC foes.

yes ...that said, Endicott picked up 4 D1 transfers and only 1 is D1 lite with the Genny transfer as well, they should be very tough to beat..

The new guys all looked very solid in the preseason and should play regularly. You never want a player on the roster who wants to be elsewhere, regardless of his ability.

Yeah, agree. Especially Panchisin he looked great. should be an easy win at Neumann, and should be a great game against Nazareth. I believe in the preseason matchup they did not have their top 4 forwards so we will see.

Fensterstock and Poolman didn't play in either game. Koutsomitis played in the first but not the second.

I think we're going to see a lot of good things from Melso, too. Two time defenseman of the year in the NCDC.

The goaltending trio looks strong as well.

This puts their move to the empire 8/uchc in a whole new context. I think now the move is something Geneseo/Brockport didn't want to do, but needed to do so they don't end up like Caz.

Not really. We initially assumed it would alleviate travel, and this confirms it was a travel move. Once the UCHC loses the MAC teams the travel will be less for Geneseo and Brockport. The SUNY as a whole is struggling. If your ears are close to the ground you would know Geneseo and Brockport are only the first dominos to fall.

Plattsburgh outshoots Potsdam 42-19 but needs a late goal in the last 2 minutes for a 3-2 win. A hot goalie almost stole one.

This is going to sound funny for a guy that made 38 saves tonight, but I thought he looked lost. He never seemed to know where the rebound was, but it didn’t cost him until the game winner in the third. Plattsburgh missed a lot of rebound opportunities.

I think tonight poses a fair question:

Is Plattsburgh legit, or are they 5-0 because of the fact that they've played an easy schedule so far? (63rd out of 75 in SOS at the time of writing)

They have a win over Geneseo but other than that yes, I don’t think you could hand pick a weaker schedule if you tried

I’m certainly not going to say they are winning the national championship on Nov. 18, but Plattsburgh had a very good team last season.

Another year under their belts with most of the top players back and a strong goaltender, this team can play with the best of the best.

Moffatt has done a great job resurrecting that program.

LayerEight Shootout (former PrimeLink and FirstLight) is coming up where they could get a date with Norwich. They also have a regular non-conference game coming with Norwich.

Oswego will be coming twice as well.

Their schedule will get stronger, but I think this Plattsburgh team is legit and has the horses to be a factor towards the end.
