2022 NCAA Tournament

Feel the same way.

Adrian comes in waves. If someone takes them out, they will have to be able to withstand that. An on-fire goaltender would help. It can be done, but stars will need to align.

SNC led them 3-2 entering the third period in their first meeting this season and then in a blink of an eye it was out of hand.

To elaborate further on the “coming in waves,” in their regular season 2 game series, SNC tied or out scored them in 4 of the 6 periods. That being said, Adrian absolutely earned that sweep. No comment on the NCHA championship game…

Altazo, you surely called that one. The first and the third were even (1-1 and 2-2, respectively)….but Hobart slipped a bit mid-way and Adrian made them pay with a 4-1 second period.

Overall, I don’t think Hobart played poorly. They needed to get hot on the PP and needed their goaltender to play lights out. Neither happened (but, to be clear, I wouldn’t in any way hang that game on Lascelle). Adrian is a very fast, skilled team and their goaltender made some clutch saves when they needed them…they were impressive to watch.

Great season for Hobart, who has a number of very good young players coming back…their future looks good.

Which is exactly what a team like Adrian depends on. Sleep on them for a moment, and you may as well go home right then and there.

He had a business-like look on his face leaving the ice after last night's game.

Chris is a great guy and well respected within the college hockey community. If this is finally the year the Knights get over the hump, there will be a lot of happy people for Chris and the Geneseo program.

No disrespect to Augsburg or UNE, who have both rightfully earned their spots in Placid, I’m salivating at the thought of a potential Geneseo/Adrian final from a style of play perspective.

You'd want to say act like you've been there before but when you haven't that's to be expected.

To be fair Augsburg was in the D3 Frozen Four in like ‘97. No idea of the location of that one though (I’d guess Middlebury.) It’s crazy to think that was 25 years ago already…

When nobody on your roster was born the last time you made it, you haven't been there before. They do have more than one all-time NCAA Tournament win though...what's a level above perennial national contender???

First trip to Lake Placid. Does anyone have some suggestions on some local places we might want to eat at? Thanks

Simply Gourmet/Big Mountain Deli is an awesome sandwich shop with 46 sandwiches named after the 46 high peaks.

Breakfast Club for breakfast right on the main drag.

Lisa G's and Liquids and Solids are good dinner spots.

People like Smoke Signals (bbq joint). It's not bad.

I also don't think that the choice of song had anything to do with it being SNC's intro music. Although I could be wrong and in that case, well played Augsburg.

I would second the big mountain deli recommendation.

Coach Shultz won’t let the boys look past UNE though. This will be Geneseo’s 4th Frozen Four appearance, but they’re 0-3 in their previous ones. Time to get the monkey off their backs.

Hope so, what I have noticed in the playoffs is that you must win the special teams battles, and or stay out of the box, not sure about Genny's numbers but it's a must.....Best of luck to the Ice Knights....
