2013-2014 Schedules

Here is Lake Forest's schedule. http://www.goforesters.com/sports/mice/2013-14/schedule

Looks like SNC will have a couple home and home games next season. It wouldn't be bad if it was trips to Appleton, Fond du Lac or even Mequon. Menomonie and Lake Forest seem like a haul for back to back nights.

I only see SNC on Stout's schedule for one game, and it's in DePere. Doing a home and home series with Lake Forest is easy and probably cheaper than having to stay in a hotel.

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

Hearing a rumor that Stonehill College may be dropping hockey as a Varsity sport and adding mens lacrosse.
Scheduling as a DII, being very difficult to find games, nd not wanting to spend the money to be a DI are the reasons behind the rumored move.
Too bad if true as they are a no scholarship, good academic team that has had a program for awhile.
I'm guessing there will be more DII teams to follow their lead and go club.
We'll see.

After receiving a call from an institution on our schedule in 2013-14 regarding the above post, I felt compelled to make a post her to dissolve any rumor that Stonehill College may considering dropping Ice Hockey. That is not true, and we are prepared to compete with a full schedule in 2013-14. I appreciate the support of groups and forums such as this that support intercollegiate athletics, including Ice Hockey, but don't appreciate when the conversations on these forums create rumors that negatively affecting our program.

We look forward to another season competing in the NE-10 and continue to be appreciative and supportive of the hard work by our student-athletes, Coach Pat Leahy and his staff in the name of Stonehill athletics.

Welcome to the board....you will find that there will be a number of rumors and discussions being flushed out here from time to time - I would not take it personally - its a public forum that most folks come to for answers - and in this case it worked as you were able to clarify misinformation - Good Luck this season and many more Stonehill!!!

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

Good catch. I didn't notice that. Also, the playoff format looks a lot like the NCHA format and not the MCHA's.

I think that is too bad. I really like the Final Four format. The only thing that would be a better idea is to go back to two game series in the semis and finals -

I liked the Final Four format as well, but the way we got there was idiotic. In each of the last two years, MSOE finished #2 overall in the MCHA, but had to play in the 1st round, while Marian finished below them and got a bye.

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

A Friday at home and then Saturday in De Pere? A bit unusual to see that much travel in one night for these guys, isn't it?

The women used to do this all the time. I remember Superior having home-home series with Finlanda, Stevens Point....5+ hour drives each way

If they did away with divisional scheduling, such aberrations wouldn't have to happen. With 10 teams in the league, play everybody twice and have one standings table. Seed the teams 1-10 and qualify somewhere between 2 and 10 teams for the playoffs.

As I understand it, the structure that you are describing will be used starting with the new 2013-14 NCHA schedule...

Why do we have Utica on the road for two games again this year? That makes it three years in a row playing up there twice. Oh, sorry, forgot, they hate road games.
