2013-2014 Schedules

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

You reach a fork in the thread, take it.

To get back on track -

Norwich will play 2 games against UMB, Babson, USM, UNE, NEC, St. A, CSC, SKD, and STM. They will play two games in the Primelink, with the first game against Middlebury, and host the NSB tournament. They will probably play single games against Middlebury and Plattsburgh. After that I don't know (one game :D)

Anyone know the 4th for the primelink or the teams in the NSB?

Have it from a reliable source that the Plattsburgh/Norwich game may NOT be on next year's schedule ... heard that two months ago ... not sure if is still the case but would be bad news for all concerned if true!

And Emery said it would be played on a Tuesday if it did..

And the 4th PL is UWS

With Plattsburgh and Norwich about 65 miles from each other you would think both teams would find value in keeping the series going. It must about the shortest travel trip for both teams. Why can not the game be scheduled in early December like it has the past few years? Norwich and Plattsburgh have been playing each other on a regular basis for about 20 years. It is the Norwich game I most look forward to each year.

IIRC, what Emery said on WIRY was that the Norwich game would be on the schedule, they were just trying to figure out which Tuesday worked best for both teams. He dismissed the whole "SUNYAC must play Canton" thing, which was rumored to be the reason for dropping Norwich, but basically said everybody was on-board for taking Canton in once they were full NCAA DIII members (with them pairing with Oswego).

So, with joecct saying he believes the PLT/WIL game in Williamstown will still go on despite the Ephs making the trip for the CC as well, Plattsburgh's schedule should end up pretty similar to this season, just switch out the tournament teams...

Castleton (H)
Skidmore (H)
Middlebury (A)
Williams (A)
Norwich (A)
Superior (H)
NRW/MID (H)
Hamilton (H)
HOB/WIL (H)

Total games: 14 H, 11 A. (Queue complaints of hypocrisy for complaining about Utica never playing away from home!)

When counting home/away games, it is better to not count the Primelink either way - every three years you get a "bonus" two home games for hosting the Primelink. Especially since it is an every 3 year thing, it doesn't match up with home/away agreements with other teams for N/C games. It is what it is.

As I said my source was two months old ... the issue at the time was SUNYAC scheduling conflicts ... if Bobby says those have been cleared up and the game is back on that is great news!

Norwich has one game left to schedule. They picked up a certain state school for one game to bring them to 24. Is the 25th game possibly Plattsburgh? Maybe so now that Canton is out the window and Norwich can't play Dartmouth with the new rule of Nov. 1st.

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

Norwich can't play Dartmouth with the new rule of Nov. 1st.

I was afraid that the Nov. 1st rule would take the Dartmouth game out of play. That Weekend in October was perfect for Dartmouth's Ivy imposed schedule constraints to give them a couple of games (they played Norwich and a Canadian team) before they started ECAC play. I'm sorry to see that out the window.

Is the canadian exhibition out, too? IIRC, Coach Emery said he might try to get someone in mid-season or something, but that there were no guarantees.

That seemed to work well for both teams
Worked well for me also instead of driving 30 miles north drove 30 miles south

Unless the legislation is changed to exclude exhibitions/scrimmages, Norwich cannot play Dartmouth and the Canadian exhibition would have to be moved until after Nov. 1.

I don't see Trois-Rivieres coming back to Northfield anytime soon though after this year's game...

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

A Friday at home and then Saturday in De Pere? A bit unusual to see that much travel in one night for these guys, isn't it?
Esp. in light of the "budget issues" reason stated by the WIAC schools for walking away from the NCHA....

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

Here is Lake Forest's schedule. http://www.goforesters.com/sports/mice/2013-14/schedule

Looks like SNC will have a couple home and home games next season. It wouldn't be bad if it was trips to Appleton, Fond du Lac or even Mequon. Menomonie and Lake Forest seem like a haul for back to back nights.
Seems that the rumor has panned out that the MCHA will be adapting the NCHA name....take note of the playoff schedule noted in the LFC schedule..
