2013-2014 Schedules

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

Went to check Geneseo's schedule today as I had gave it a once over back in August when it was released, but I wanted to check it a little more closesly and saw something interesting ...

http://geneseoknights.com/sports/mice/2013-14/schedule

Appears that Geneseo's 1/4 game at Nazareth has been changed to 12/15 at Frontier Field (home of AAA baseball Rochester Red Wings.) For those who follow the D1 game, the Rochester Amerks, or Rochester area high school hockey you're probably aware that Rochester is doing its own version of the Winter Classic from December 13th - 22nd.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
•Friday, December 13 (7:00 p.m.): Rochester Americans vs. Lake Erie Monsters
•Saturday, December 14 (12:00 p.m.): RIT Tigers (women) vs. Clarkson Golden Knights
•Saturday, December 14 (7:00 p.m.): RIT Tigers (men) vs. Niagara Purple Eagles
•Sunday, December 15 (1:00 p.m.): Sabres/Amerks Alumni Game
•Saturday, December 21: Section V Rivalry Day – matchups TBA
•Sunday, December 22: Section V Rivalry Day – matchups TBA

The Nazareth athletics site doesn't have the game changed to 12/15 yet (still listed as 1/4 at the MCC rink) and it is not listed on the Frozen Frontier schedule yet either, but it is hard to imagine that Geneseo's athletic department would just make up that they were playing in the event so I'd imagine it is just the other 2 sites not being as up to date.

Nazareth schedule - http://athletics.naz.edu/schedule.aspx?path=mhockey&schedule=147&

Time is still TBA (on Geneseo site) but I would assume late afternoon game after Sabres/Amerks alum game.

Re: 2013-2014 Schedules

Can't be!!:)

That's how it works in the W every year. (Two at home and one away v. everyone in the conference, or the opposite, with the arrangement alternating bi-annually.) I'm not saying that any team with with a conference affiliation can pick and choose who they want to play, but it's not as though Utica will get any real cupcakes to chomp upon in the W, unlike in some other leagues.

Last season, the schedule favored UC in terms of playing the better teams at home twice, but that isn't going to be the case in '13/'14... I'm curious as to how that scenario will play-out for Utica, but I'm pretty confident that they'll be fine.
