2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

More important question: How is it that none of us out east knew that NoDak was losing several of their best players? They're going to have a rough month, no?

It's been discussed a couple of times on various threads. However I had no idea they were leaving this early. The question was whether they were going to still be here next week against the Gophers.

Finals in the WCHA:

Ohio State 3, Minnesota State 2 (OT)
Minnesota 3, St. Cloud State 0
North Dakota 3, Bemidji State 3 (OT)

No, I don't care about the shootout.

EPIC meltdown. It's got to the point where I'm feeling a bit sorry for them. From the BC point of view, does this hurt us in the Pairwise / RPI?
Only if BU falls such that it is no longer a TUC. Beyond that, BU is losing to teams that BC plays, so both are opponents as well as opponents opponents, so the wins and losses go into similar buckets. By and large, it should make the Eagles' path to the NCAAs easier because a) you are more likely to beat BU H2H, b) BU is less likely to land in the PWR top eight, and c) if you need to win the Hockey East Tournament to get into the field there isn't a formidable team in your path.

Pretty much this.

BC fans will be hoping that North Dakota has a rough couple weeks against Minnesota and Duluth. NoDak is just one loss away from falling to 8th.

Remember that UMD loses a couple of players to the Olympics off of its current roster, Lara Stalder and Tea Villila, so it mitigates the UND personnel losses for that series.

HUGE 4 point weekend for Dartmouth puts the Big Green right in the thick of the playoff hunt. Now only 2 points separating SLU, Princeton, Yale, RPI and Dartmouth in the fight for the #5-#8 spots in the ECAC and it is really tough to call which of these teams will be on the outside looking in, at #9. Harvard, Clarkson, Cornell can be conceded the top 3 spots. Outside chance that someone will overtake QU if they continue to stumble. Union, Brown, Colgate continue to be competitive in almost every game, but just not enough games left now for them to do anything.
