2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

Thanks board for deleting all old posts so certain posters can change their stances.

As a libtard, your prejudices and bigotry led you to certain assumptions about what I HAD to believe about evolution. I have changed no posts. I have, to the best of my knowledge, never posted on this subject previously. An intelligent person would take a lesson here, but since I have serious doubts about your intelligence, I have serious doubts that you'll learn anything. You'll continue on your merry way, snarking, smirking and evidently lying your way through these threads. Some of the other libtards, however, may learn not to be so quick to jump to conclusions. I have posted many times that I'm not a social conservative. Since that fact doesn't fit in your world view, you ignore it. As I say, I have no hope for you.

I just wish for once that one of these clowns would get the terminology correct. I guess my expectations of a Texas A&M grad are too high.

Are you and Foxton married? if not, I wouldn't let him get away. Both of you are heading for the libtard HOF. I repeat, do you ever offer anything here other than snark and smirk? There are plenty of A&M grads who'd be happy to hire you to mow their lawns.

Fact: Perry in this statement misused the term "Scientific Theory".

http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/20...ientific-theory-that-has-not-been-proven.html

Furthermore, noted Perry, “I don't think from my perspective that I want America to be engaged in spending that much money on still a scientific theory that has not been proven and from my perspective is more and more being put into question."

That furthers the dumbing down of America.

I'm confused, he doesn't believe in global warming and his solution is to stop funding research to study it, but wouldn't not studying it make us unable to prove either way who is correct?

Mr. Perry, submitted for your approval: The scientific method

The way that I see things, it comes down to the bigger question of: Is money spent on basic scientific research by the federal government actually money well spent. If the answer is yes, then it doesn't matter if global warming is real because that money should be used to study the natural environment . If the answer is no, then it doesn't matter if global warming is real because that money shouldn't be used to study the natural environment.

The science says X, that goes into the economic and political mechanism of each person and out comes Y of what we should do about it. I'm waiting for the day where a politician says: The science says that global warming is real and significantly caused by humans, but I don't think that doing anything to mitigate the impact is in out current economic interest.

A politician may have misused a word. Stop the presses!

At least he doesn't think that FDR was the president and on TV talking about the 1929 stock market crash!

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

Yes, cause history is so much more important to get right than science.
No, but some aspects of science are open to debate. Franklin Roosevelt being on TV as president in 1929 isn't, at least in my book. But, hey, the way they rewrite history now, maybe I'm just old-fashioned.

The problem is a lot of "scientists" investigating this matter apparantly put their thumbs on the scale. What do we do about that?

People in all 57 states would agree.

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

IMO the subtle impact on evolution/ID issue is far greater than it is given credit for.

Of course there's the issue on the education budget and science education in particular. But the potential damage on children downplaying the importance of science and being drawn into other professions could be profound. The guy who was to discover the cure for cancer might instead end up getting a degree in philosophy.

And this in the US, a country where the deteriorating list of competitve advantages over Asia leaves us with primarly innovation.

Those people that care about that 3-letter word, "jobs."

Racist. Next thing we know, you're gonna be talking about a "black cloud" of debt hanging over the nation. And we all know what you'd really mean by that.

If only we were in the black. In the red is the more applicable color.

You're right to be concerned about these matters, I am. And while I disagree with Perry in his outlook, these issues are primarily local. And not especially "presidential." Obama's election (or re-election) hasn't and won't do anything to overcome resistance to evolution in certain parts of the country. Besides, given the ways things are going, how long do you suppose it will be that there are demands we teach the Islamic view (assuming there is one) of creation in public schools? After all, we've gotta be balanced.

40 minutes of pointing out things Ron Paul has done and would like to do (links to sources in the youtube info)

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

Why would anyone want to watch some guy in his parents' basement talk about Ron Paul for 40 minutes?
