Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel
You again are missing the point. I pointed out that Palin didn't hide herself from the spotlight but rather she kept putting herself out there for the world to see, none of which indicates I felt it was always proper. You incorrectly inferred my statement indicated I thought every criticism of her was fair. Man up for once and admit your error.
Okay, I admit it. But in the spirit of coming clean, perhaps you'd admit your countless posts criticizing her overwhelmed the subtlety of your point, which I missed. Your view that Palin may have been victimized by unfair commentary came imbedded in this:
"The one fact that you continually and conveniently ignore is that she is not some anti-social waif hiding from the media spotlight, but rather an agenda driven narcissist that put herself out there day after day and unbeknownst to herself came off as a mental midget. Every unfair accusation you crow about doesn't deter from the fact she was a train wreck that never stopped herself from being available to the masses. For that no is to blame but Palin and her handlers. You can cry wolf over and over until the cows come home, but no one is buying what you are selling."
Now I don't find anything in there that sounds remotely like you agreeing with me that some of the commentary has been unfair. But if you say that's what you meant, then that's what you meant. But you can see how I might misunderstand, given the level of bile in your post.
My only point, which brought lefties to Defcon 1 (and has kept them there for 48 hours), was that some of the Palin criticism crosses the line, that's all. Not that she shouin't be criticized, just that even for Sarah Palin, there should be some standards. And a related point: while unattractive, "hypocricy" is not the worst thing in the world. Palin is not my choice for the Republican nomination and I won't vote for her in the primary. However, in the unlikely event she becomes the nominee, I'll vote for her so we can send The Fresh Prince of Back of the Yards back where he came from. And the number of people willing to give "The One" a change of venue grows daily.
