2010 Milwaukee Brewers - Pitching: Quantity, or Quality????

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers - Pitching: Quantity, or Quality????

So who feeds Provus and Ueck the info on the radio? Last night Provus was talking about Weeks' streak of 11 straight games scoring a run that was current. I know Weeks is playing pretty well, but that's a neat trick considering they were shut out in back to back games over the weekend. Not to nitpick, but I just found this one funny.

Would it be appropriate to start the "HIT SOMEBODY! ANYBODY! EVERYBODY!" hockey cheer at Miller Park next time a Brewer gets hit by a pitch? ;)

Bush vs. Rodriguez tonight. Welcome Astros, so glad to see you :(

by the way, I am totally rooting for the Padres to win it all this year. :D

I can't confirm this, but I've heard this is a cheer Brewers' opponents use in their clubhouse. Good to see Macha get fired up enough on the subject to get booted. How ridiculous to watch Brewers get hit up between the shoulder blades and even on the head and then one of our guys gets tossed without warning for gently knocking a piece of lint off the uniform of an idiot like Soriano. Horrible umpiring.

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers - Pitching: Quantity, or Quality????

speaking of people getting nailed by pitches, Carlos Gomez is now on the 15 day DL with a concussion and Lorenzo Cain is back up.

I obviously don't like the first part of that situation, but the second part is at least a positive. I hope he gets some decent time out there. God bless the gamer Jim Edmonds is, but the dude can barely hobble from the dugout to the batters box. I'd love to see them get him healthier so they can deal him to a contender for some 4th OF and pinch hit duty. Classy guy who clearly deserves this opportunity in what really needs to be his last season (which he has all but said).

How awesome was it to hear Hells Bells at Miller Park again? Great to see the fans support Trevor in his first save opportunity in a loooooong time on Saturday. And he didn't disappoint.

a little bit about who exactly is the closer: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/100233074.html

Interesting situation. I don't think it's fair to take the job away from Hoffman in May, and never give him another shot regardless of how well he pitches, but what do you do with Axford, who hasn't done anything NOT to keep the job? I think they've both handled it well in the press.

can we get a broom please :)

Good to see Edmonds get a chance to be in a pennant race. I know they weren't going to give up one of their top minor league prospects to rent a 40 year old 4th OF and pinch-hitter for a a couple of months, but I was hoping for a younger prospect who could have a high ceiling someday and not some guy who will never be better than a backup outfielder. They already have a guy like Dickerson but he calls himself Jodi Gerut and he's also currently on minor league rehab assignment.

I like Lorenzo Cain.

Actually, I like all the rookies. Definitely would rather watch Cain than Gomez. Not a Gomez fan.

Jody Gerut hurt his heel, right? Did it fall off? He's been out an unusually long time.

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers - Pitching: Quantity, or Quality????

Thank you Brewers, for not getting swept by the stupid Dbacks. Not a pretty game (a couple nice catches by Cain, though). Hopefully Cain is cementing his place in center for next season, like Escobar did at short last season.

Casey McGehee sets a club record with 9 hits in his last 9 ABs. Braun is back from injury, but looked terrible and was 0-5.

Is it just me or does Cain remind anyone else of Vladimir Guerrero at the plate? All he needs to do is get rid of the batting gloves, I think. :)

it was embarrassing being a brewers fan in AZ this week :(

Some serious bullpen mismanagement by Macha tonight, IMO. Gallardo was at or above 100 pitches before the 8th with 4 out of 5 lefties coming up including one (Gonzalez) who'd been killing him tonight...and still no lefty up in the pen until it was too late. That was a frustrating and quick end to what should have been a victory. :(

I'm done with Macha. He and Petersen haven't done crap with the picthing staff overall. If it wasn't for Ax and Loe, this team would be further in the hole, and they had nothing to do with them.

I've also supported Melvin, but his free agent pitcher signings have been a disaster. I'm not sure I'd give him a chance to fix the mess again.

I hope they nail Saint Albert in the ribs next time for watching that one.
