Fun fact on Mike Green: In his last 24 playoff games, he has.... one goal.

He's a great defense man - we all know that. But it doesn't start there. It starts with a foundation. You need one guy who can work the entire rink. Someone who brings it every game, every time.

If you've been following along, you already know that if the Capitals advance tonight with a Game 7 victory vs. the Canadiens, then the Flyers will be their second round opponent. If Montreal wins, the Flyers travel north to Boston. There's no official schedule for the second round just yet, although Paul Holmgren mentioned to the local media this morning that Game 1 will be on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m., regardless of the opponent. Look for the schedule to be revealed here on philadelphiaflyers.com either late tonight or early tomorrow.

So now I want the Canadiens to win (I feel dirty saying that), because that means the Bruins get a nice Matinee on Saturday with the Flyers, which would work out fantastically for me. :)

Gieco... So easy a caveman can do it.

Mike Green is the Joe Thornton of the Washington Sharks.

Allegedly no lineup changes for Montreal tonight..which means no Spacek and another 4 minutes of terrifying ice time for MA Bergeron. Great asset management there...

Continues to look like Scott Walker in, Tomas Fleischmann out for Caps. Tarik El Bashir reporting that Fleischmann not particpating in line rushes in the pre-game skate.

Meanwhile, in Montreal, the city's police are on high alert. I predict trouble regardless of the outcome. Listening to both CJAD and Team 990 today, seems like a lot of people took the day off...one of the bars was turning people away two hours ago.

Habs start the Lord Stanley line (Gionta-Gomez-Moen) with Gill and Gorges; Caps with Ovechkin-Backstrom-Knuble and Morrison and Corvo.

how can you be beaten when it wasn't even a shot of goal!??!?:p

Oh, you can have someone beaten and not score.

Sometimes it even happens in the final minute of a national championship game, during a 6x3. So I hear. :(

The Leafs mascot is still one of the dorkiest looking things I've seen in pro sports.

It's like that kid in middle school who was always beaten up landed a job putting on a bear suit at Leafs games. :D
