UEFA opens investigation into England for fan behavior during semifinal against Denmark.
It includes booing during Denmark’s National Anthem.
UEFA is so quaint…
I think my one takeaway from the Euros and Copa America is that players, especially the top players, are fatigued from the sheer amount games lately, and it’s only going to get worse by the World Cup. Which sucks because I feel 2022 will be the last hurrah for a decently competitive World Cup. 2026 brings in 48 teams and, with the way the allocations are, there’s gonna be some awful teams and some big blowouts.
Yeah, I don’t think we’ll approach USAvThailand at the 2019 Women’s World Cup level but with Asia getting 8 spots, Africa getting 9, and CONCACAF 6 there’s going to be some huge mismatches. The thing I hate is with all the extra teams it makes the qualifiers pretty meaningless for all the big countries. It means you have very little meaningful football outside of the big tournaments and you are 100% correct having the extra teams makes the tournaments a lot less enjoyable.
Like why Guatemala or how many positive cases required replacement? What was the algorithm for replacing them?

Also, as expected, the match had at least one stoppage for the "puto" chants (didn't get to see the match but read reports/saw highlights). So Mexico is more and more likely to be playing more matches with no fans.
