With this us against the world and everyone is out to get us paranoid attitude you'd make an excellent UND fan!

It shows that, despite some titles in a couple of sports, Seattle is still the Boston of the West.

Seattle is the exact opposite of Boston. Seattle is an ugly city with ugly weather and beautiful people in a beautiful landscape.

I meant in reference to the persecution complex of their fans, which is still alive and kicking.

Wait, Dempsey is a target for hate? The guy's a USMNT darling and will forever be known by US fans for scoring 31 seconds into the game vs. Ghana and playing through a pretty hefty nose injury most of the way after. Give me a break.

And in MLS he's broken a guys jaw and blamed him for it, fought with teammates, sacktapped guys, rough tackles, and had physical interactions with referees.

He's an ***hole. (replace the stars with word)

Dempsey suspesuspended for 3 games by MLS. Won't miss the Gold Cup. Cue the "won't somebody think of the children!"

I very much like this new tradition where the Sounders forget basic soccer skills when the Quakes come in to town.

They're called the Matildas but still an awesome victory for them.

You mean like how some squeakball loving idiot on ESPN wanted Hope Solo thrown out of the World Cup?

I'm surprised it wasn't a little harsher but still seems reasonable, but definitely on the light end.

Yes indeed. Brazil was touted by some pundits as a final four team.

As a "purist" I was annoyed by FIFA's placing teams into pools instead of drawing them at random; as a partisan I am fairly pleased. FIFA did as much as they could do to give Canada and USA the easiest routes to the semi-finals.

Based on what I've seen so far, the winner of France v Germany seems most likely to win the tournament. They have been at least one notch better than everyone else.

Pleasantly surprised by USA defense. Still, you cannot win if you do not score.

5 minutes in, I think Colombia might regret the talk during the week...

Re: World Soccer XXVI: Fun for MLS Fans and Eurosnobs Alike

I'd like a goal here soon. Longer it goes without one, the more confident Colombia gets.
