Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Hey! A lot of us Seattle fans have been around for a while, it's just recently that we've had a team.

Haven't the Sounders been around in one form or another, and at one level or another, since way back in the 60's?

1974 actually.

Oops I meant that Seattle has recently had a team in MLS. The Sounders yes have been in Seattle in one form or another for years but it always seemed to me when I was living in the area, and from the folks I know in the area, that when they were an A-League/USL-1 team people didn't see a reason to make the effort to go to every single game because well, it was minor league. They wanted an MLS team and when they finally got it, they found a reason to go. I wouldn't exactly call them Johnny come lately fans. Snobbish a bit yes.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Great work Everton, drawing ManU 3-3 with 2 ET goals.

Tough decision with these 10:00 games: Arsenal-Bolton on FSC, West Ham-Chelsea on ESPN2.

Usually my decision tree goes like this:

1. Tottenham
2. HD
3. Americans playing
4. Game quality
5. Whoever is playing Arsenal

So, it is HD vs. Stuart Holden playing Arsenal....

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Wow, never knew that ManU time worked BACKWARDS too! Tied? Pressuring ManU? Let's cut this short.

WBA 1 - Spurs 1. Modric scored, then left injured. Delightful, he can join Gomes, Crouch, Defoe and Dawson.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Horrible sending off, Gary Cahill for Bolton, right after Bolton should have had a freekick at the edge of the box, too.

Ref just handed the game to Arsenal.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Portsmouth gets just it's 2nd point of the season with a 0-0 draw against Ipswich Town...they did get several chances though.

Oh and my Portsmouth kit arrived! I love it, it's awesome.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Wow, I had no idea what hacks Wolves were.

And Phil Dowd can eat a bowl of dicks.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Bremen/Spurs and Twente/Inter today in CL group stage (as well as others). Makes me want to leave work early to catch these.

This is what happens when I adopt a team. I wonder if they're familiar with the Mets at Merseyside?

So you're the reason the Mets stink?

Whosoever has not kidnapped the Wilpons shares that guilt.

you guys used up a lot of juice with the baseball gods to get that ball to roll through Buckner's legs...the offset is substantial;)
