Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

I'd forgot that South American teams are still undefeated in this World Cup.

10-0-2 right now.

Pretty impressive.

Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

Isn't Italy known for keeping clean sheets?

Have to wonder if Lippi just didn't expect to be in this position. Pirlo only being used now...

Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

I know this isn't their department and that given their lack of Maori it might even be somewhat offensive, but when New Zealand shows up in an all-black strip, it just feels wrong for them not to do a haka.

Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

No, but I think in Spanish it's "dos a cero." Maybe not universally, but definitely in the Mexican dialect.

No, no, it's the same in Spain as well.

Did you see Nelsen interviewed about that? "Yeah, a bunch of skinny white guys doing a haka. That'll intimidate them." :D

Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

Looks like Italy may have just gotten the screw job of the tourney.

Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

what happened?

Italian shot on net with the goalie completely clear, the Slovak defender blocked it with his knee, possibly across the line (impossible to tell). Great defensive job in either case.

Re: World Soccer XV: Diver Down

Yeah, just saw the replay and it wasn't all the way over, not that any of the officials would've actually had a good enough view to be able to tell.
