The GC knock out rounds don't alter things too much, MAYBE they should have switched the US to E. Rutherford instead of DC, but DC also hasn't hosted the US since the Davies incident in '09.
Again though, how is that an argument in their favor? Why reward them for their inaction, when plenty of cities have been building stadiums and coming out to support their teams?
My point was more that it's the national capital, if they have to put up six rows of portable bleachers on the National Mall, they will still be in the rotation. (Side note, that would be kind of cool).
Cute response but you know as a ManUtd supporter that you have this song called Glory Glory, Man United which all the teams that hate ManUtd have turned into a song called Who the **** are Man United, right? Or do you not know that. I don't expect many Man Utd fans to know anything about the team's history prior to 1995.
Does he still have a jheri-curl? I hope he still has a jheri-curl.Jens Lehmann looks set to return to Arsenal.
If you'd ever stop with the whining you'd know I became a fan around 1977 or so. My first soccer coach was from Manchester and he was a fan, so as a bright-eyed kid that looked up to his coach I became one as well. Back then of course it was extremely difficult to follow the EPA but I did what I could. No, I've never been to a match and no I'm not up to speed on all the hating that goes on but that's beside the point that my retort was well-played.
Goal-line technology could be coming to the Premier League next season, with Hawk-Eye hoping to test its system during top-level matches for the first time.
But with soccer's rules-making body yet to allow referees to consult high-tech aids, the trials and results will remain secret.
Hawk-Eye founder Paul Hawkins also is concerned that if his system contradicted a ruling on a disputed goal and the results were made public, the referee would be undermined.
Screw the refs!! Isn't the whole idea here to get the call right??
I think the point here is that they don't want to undermine the officials *with a system that's still experimental*.Screw the refs!! Isn't the whole idea here to get the call right??

This is ball-tracking technology like what they use in tennis, not going under a hood and looking at a replay, which I think is what they're trying to avoid given that maintaining the flow of the game is more important in soccer than it is in, say, baseball. We've been using Replay in sports over here in North America for a while now, and we've more or less have got it figured out fairly well for most stuff. How are those English Pig-Dogs types going to screw up going over to a hood and looking at the replay??
The MLS season opener is boring. Very boring.
