Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

I didn't realize the USCHO poll had an impact on the NCAA selections !!!

Manhattanville is probably below RIT because they have an incredibly weak schedule out side of Plattsburgh and Elmira and RIT beat them.

Not really sure what your talking about. In fact if you look at their common opponents Plattsburgh,Elmira,Neumann tell me who fared better Mville or RIT?

Not really sure Williams, NEC, Adrian is a world beater out of conference schedule.
Mville played Elmira 3x Norwich 3x and Platty 2x. 6 out of the 8 on the road no less.

Again RIT is 0-the season vs a top 10 team.

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

RIT has Amherst on its schedule (T+L) other than Elmira (T+L) and Platty (L+L). Manhattanville has three Norwich (.700) games (2W+L) and three Elmira (W-2L), Holy Cross (.792)(L), and Platty (L-L).

And I fail to see when and where RIT beat them.

I don't know who's schedule I was looking at for RIT over Mvillle (sorry)

Their SOS is pretty similar...so again I'm guessing it mainly goes on name recognition and belief that the ECAC-W is stronger than the ECAC-E...which it is.

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Say What??? I take it this was Derek’s vote for the USCHO D-III poll also? In looking at the USCHO Poll, 13 1st place and 2 2nd place votes for Plattsburgh, 2 1st place and 13 2nd place votes for Amherst and 14 3rd place and 1 4th place vote for Elmira. There is consistency and probably a pretty accurate take. Then there is a mix of votes but probably a significant amount of 4th place votes for RIT. Could there possible be a subplot here where voters are trying to set RIT up for bigger and better things after what happened to them last year. Another subplot could be to keep GAC down with the expectation they get an auto-bid and place RF and LF high in hopes of getting that third western team and a western final. Are the voters that ingenious, am I on to something here or have I been looking out the window for the “Black Helicopters” for way to long? :D

Didn't even get a ballot this week.

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

wow... although i don't get to vote, or don't know how, i'm completely amazed on how belittled the west teams are. you can always tell who's from the east and who's from the west. east fans always place a couple west teams at the bottom of the list, and usually not in the proper order cause they haven't actually seen those couple teams play. where as the west fans place the good west teams somewhere around the middle of the rankings, acknowledging that there are a number of east teams that are better than them. yes, you can argue that west teams continually fail at the national level. but when there's 3 east teams and 1 west team, that is bound to happen. that's just simple high school math (odds & ratios). and while i continue to follow this thread, i figured i just had to put in my .02

I agree with you, we should have 2 Fan Opinion Polls one for the east and one for the west. Then break it down.

It's a fan poll...

Relax sally.

Holds no bearing on the actual NCAA tournament or really means anything at all:)
