as someone who ran the poll for a few years, I can promise you that 10 is plenty. As far as the other stuff he said, there are only 7 playoff teams, so it seems kinda pointless to pick more then 10....if anything we should drop down to 7 jk

if they take home the sacred cod, then I move them up over RIT.
I'd rather that the Asian carp gets to the shores of Lake Mi. before that happens, but...they do seem steady

Prez -- why u hating on Timmy -- our UVM goalie? 'cause he's a Bruin or 'cause he won the Vezina and you think he didn't deserve? He can't string the words together too well, but I like his yoga approach to goaltending.

I'd say the only thing standing between lake forest and the illustrious cod is Iwachiw. I just hope a few of you western haters are there to see the Foresters break down that wall

I'm not a western hater, as a matter of fact I am a big fan of LF and RF. While anything is possible, one thing you should consider is that teams playing against the upper tier NESCAC squads rarely score 5 on 5. This is partially because the upper tier NESCAC squads have superb goaltending.

Statistically LF has not demonstrated a successful power play percentage. If they can convert I agree they can eat cod on the way home. If not, I fear that the Western haters will have some extra ammunition to begin the new year.

The Polar Bears may have a thing or two to say about Iwachiw even seeing the Foresters! I have seen both Bowdoin and Trinity this season and the Polar Bears are skating a better squad; Iwachiw gives the Bantams an edge in net. I guess they just have to play the game and see what happens.

I do not know Jackets, but are you aware Bowdoin rosters two of Wisconsin's own, Kayte Holtz (New Berlin) and Kim Tess-Wanat (Fond-du-Lac)? Does that make them defectors in western eyes?

not really as WI isn't exactly known for it's hockey prowess outside of Superior, Hudson, and Fon-du-lac.

I'm a little surprised the Fondy girl didn't follow her coach to Marian, the defector from St Cloud is the one that will be taken out back and beaten

Both girls played for the Wisconsin Wild, not focusing on HS hockey.

Check out out the shots on goal. Clearly, Hallet, UMB's goaltender stole the game for UMB !!! Did you say the same thing when Amherst went out to the midwest last season and got humbled by St. thomas and Gustavus? hmmmmmmmm

Unfortunately Amherst lost to your best team out there last year....Amherst didn't lose to Marian. Lake Forest lost to the 20th best team out east. Bus legs, the rink is cold, the other teams goalie,the refs,yeah yeah yeah. The # 1 team from the west lost to the 20th best team out East. End of Story.

Unfortunately Amherst lost to your best team out there last year....Amherst didn't lose to Marian. Lake Forest lost to the 20th best team out east. Bus legs, the rink is cold, the other teams goalie,the refs,yeah yeah yeah. The # 1 team from the west lost to the 20th best team out East. End of Story.

I didn't see either of the western teams that beat Amherst at the Frozen Four...clearly not the best in the west


It sucks that Lake Forest lost this game. Take away a one minute lapse in the first, and i'm guessin its a different game. LFC needs to bounce back and win tomorrow to retain any hope for a pool C if they don't win the NCHA.

Lake Forest has always been a team that starts really strong and drifts away during the 2nd half of the season. Call it lack of focus, lack of....I don't know. Looks like that might be happening again when they can't even beat one of the middle of the pack Eastern teams. But you can't blame it on the first game of the year, it's the same for UMass, Trinity, and Bowdoin. Not the best showing for the West so far....

Lake Forest has always been a team that starts really strong and drifts away during the 2nd half of the season. Call it lack of focus, lack of....I don't know. Looks like that might be happening again when they can't even beat one of the middle of the pack Eastern teams. But you can't blame it on the first game of the year, it's the same for UMass, Trinity, and Bowdoin. Not the best showing for the West so far....

Not making excuses but those teams didn't travel 10,000 miles/16 hrs on a bus the day before either.

Lake Forest does generally do the start strong/fade late thing, but they usually have played a lot of games against the cupcakes from the MIAC and not as many higher caliber games. Its a dumbfounding loss, kinda like the Superior/CUW tie. They'll spank Bowdoin tomorrow to redeem themselves...sorry pb2!
