Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2023-2024

That may explain why I didn't get the email; they probably sent it only to people who selected Print-At-Home and received incorrect pdfs.

Yes, they can change it, because it's linked to their system which is why the ticket works in the first place. It's also why you can download all your tickets but if you transfer one on the UW Badgers app it deactivates in your Google Wallet.

The volleyball tickets this year were actually a single ticket that changed before each game. (They called it All-in-One.)

I guess I was thinking that once the ticket was in my google wallet, it was a file on my device and no longer a file controlled by UW and their ticketing system. But that must not be the case. (So - thinking out loud - what's the point of the 'download to Google Wallet step?)

So if you can't connect to Wifi and/or don't have any signal when you are standing at the scanner the ticket is still there.

Then it is both a file on my device as well as a file under the 'control' of the ticketing system? Realizing I'm heading into absurdities, what if the 'copy' of the ticket in my 'wallet' still says Friday for a game/match that has since been changed to Saturday, because I haven't turned on the device for weeks/months? A basic principle of data base management is that if a piece of data exists in two places, sooner or later they will no longer 'agree'. Again, still thinking out loud, I guess the QR code could be for an "event number" irrespective of what the rest of the ticket might say; that is, the QR 'ticket" is for "St Thomas game #1", whenever that event may occur. Then the content of the file in Google Wallet can say anything it wants, right or wrong, and the 'ticket' will still work.

Ongoingly, I would and will still prefer to have a piece of paper in my pocket. :-)

I miss ticket stubs, but I switched to being fine with the new system the first time my wife got stuck at work and I transferred a volleyball ticket to her so she could meet me at the game. Five seconds to solve that situation.

At U18s, Sapovalivova had a hatty against Germany this morning.

So far....
Sapovalivova 5g 1a in 3 games 20:44 mpg - leads team. She is also a team Captain, so 3 National team C's heading to Madison.
Scannell 2g 3a in 2 games 20:15 mpg - 2nd on team, but the most for a F.
Venusio 1g 2a in 2 games 19:58 mpg - leads team
Pieckenhagen 1g 0a in 2 games 11:54 mpg
Gorbatenko 0g 0a in 2 games 6:28 mpg

Stewart 1-0, 1.00 gaa .9583 S%

I did not see Coach Krum out for handshakes at the last series. I missed her or maybe she's checking out the tourney in person.

Very interesting problem that came out of the blue. The Packers don't have a realistic chance to win, so I think many will watch the hockey game and then go home and turn on the game if it's not a bloodbath. Dallas should score over 40, the Packers maybe 28. I'm not sure what I will be doing.

Zero degree highs for Sunday are helping make the decision!

I have gained a commitment for a family event, so I will not be attending the game. I'm bummed because up to that point I was going to go. If I didn't live an hour away, I could have squeezed the game in.

U18 comments....Sapovalivova had 2 more goals today. Yesterday Gorbatenko was in the 3rd D pair, so she moved up a bit.

Even Saturday is going to be 'messy'. 10 inches of snow overnight Friday into Saturday morning, and then a men's basketball game at 11 AM at the KC, using up all the parking. I actually rode my bike to the Friday Merrimack game last weekend, but I won't be doing that this weekend! Considering taking a city bus to LaBahn and maybe walking home (about three miles). Winter is finally here.

Badger fans: with Czechia upsetting Canada in the semis of the U18 championship, you can catch Adela Sapivalivova (future Badger) play against the US in the finals assuming no 2nd upset. NHL Network will carry it tomorrow at either 12pm or 1 pm.

Also really excited for Carla MacLeod, the former Badger that coaches the Czechia Women’s national team. MacLeod lead the team to a bronze last yr at world’s with a very young Sapivalivova being a key contributor.

Simms is out, Harvey is back. Gorbatenko is playing on the first line. I guess Mark got my memo. Lol.

Gorbatenko was listed on the first line, but Wheeler actually started with that line and I think played there for most of the game. It was great to see Woz get a hat trick! And the team was really excited for her.

It's funny how the published line-up often times does not match who actually end up on the ice.

Per the Hockey News, WI has 3 of the top 10 performers from the U18 Tourney....#2 Sapovalivova, #5 Scannnell, #10 Venusio.

LE is making huge strides in her vision/playmaking capabilities, she was very impressive this last weekend.

I like our depth. One weekend a couple F's have a spirt in scoring, then the next weekend it's 2 different players.

Wheeler needs to stay out of the box.

So at this point UW probably has 1 goal, to get into the top 4 in the pairwise and get a home game for the ncaa's. If they do that, it means they competed for the wcha title to the bitter end. They must stay within 6 pts of Tosu so the final series has title implications. If UW and Tosu tie in points, how is the league title determined?

They would be co-champs.

#1 seed for the WCHA tournament would first be done by 'head-to-head' comparison. And if UW were to sweep to cause the tie in the standings, they would win head-to-head 7 points to 5, because the second game at Ohio was an OT win for the Buckeyes; 1-5 in points at Ohio and then 6-0 in Madison. Of course, there's a long ways to go before then
