Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2023-2024

Looks like we have a 25-26 recruiting class:
D Rachel Gorbatenko, D Mackenzie Jones, G Rhyah Stewart, F Charlotte Pieckenhagen, F Adela Sapovalivova, F Nicole Gorbatenko. Lots of long names.
So with those players they have 12F and 6. O'B, Eden, Curl Wheeler are Covid 5th yr eligible, as is Kotlowski (If I have come to grips with this concept yet), that would put them in great position to actually field a full team and lose players to the Olympics.

You're off by a bit. Curl is using her COVID year this year, O'Brien, Wheeler and Kotlowski could next year. Only Eden could be on the 25-26 roster, but if they are still centralizing you assume she's gone.

This is what the 25-26 roster looks like based on current commitments and without considering Olympic absences:
F (13) - Picard, Simms, Enright, Edwards, Hall, K. Gorbatenko, Hall, Vasseur, McCarthy, Halverson, Scannell, Pieckenhagen, Sapovalivova, N. Gorbatenko (Eden COVID)
D (7) - Harvey, Jungels, Potter, Murphy, Venusio, Jones, R. Gorbatenko
G (3) - Baker, McNaughton, Stewart

From MJ presser: KK is skating, on a path to get back on the ice - Didn't discount being on the ice this weekend - so a MJ maybe for her. Simms - Is practising and "In a better place", all indications are that she'll get the green light to play Saturday. Enright is on a "path to play" - not soon though, Vasseur also not soon, maybe not on a path to play as soon as Enright.

This is all my interpretation/summary of his comments - Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-lMdxwNssQ

Thanks for posting the link. Sometimes I miss these in notifications and I do enjoy watching them. I'd be in favor of not having KK play until after Christmas. She is the crucial piece of the puzzle for the second half of the year and her being healthy is job 1.

Crap, I meant Minnesota DULUTH.
These mental glitches since COVID really frustrate the hell out of me!

Ha ha, Also a potentially reasonable! MD is coming off a great weekend, Badgers will be coming off a bye, depending on who suits up, and to TimothyA's point, how close they are to 100%, and if they are used sparingly or ready go to. So many variables! One thing should be for sure though, should be a good series!

Good point, I'd happily trade a couple losses in December for Wins in March!

Now that I realize the series is at Wisconsin I feel inclined to back off my prediction a bit. The Badgers would be more challenged at Amsoil which is a tough venue for visiting teams which #2 Colgate found out last weekend.

Duluth did win 2 games in Madison last year.

The one thing that MJ does that is annoying is the way he plays so coy with the injuries. "Golly Todd, I don't have any idea when this girls are going to be back". BS. Every person on the planet with a skeletal/muscle issue is told you will be out of commission to X to X weeks.

That's hockey across the board. Friends and I have laughed for years about how there are only two types of injuries in hockey: "upper body injuries" and "lower body injuries".

He said at his press conference that KK is a maybe, Simms is probable, and the other two are a ways off. I don't need artificial timeframes for games off in the future; let the players heal on their schedule. It's their health.

That's all collegiate sports. HIPAA limits what the schools can and cannot say publicly without the consent of the student. (And what incentive is there for a coach to be forthcoming even if HIPAA wasn't in the way?)

KK is on the the Rivalry Series roster, so obviously they know something we don't or they would not list her.

Simms will be making her debut with the O18 US National team as well, joining Curl, Eden, L Edwards and Wilgren on the team.

KK HARVEY IS BACK IN THE LINEUP I REPEAT KK HARVEY IS BACK IN THE LINEUP
