Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

Congrats to KP, the Eaves coaching tree expands!

So, who does Eaves bring in for the 3rd coach?

AJ Degenhardt is a head coach in the Minn. Junior Hockey League ... might be a bit early for him to make the jump, but he's certainly familiar with the age group being recruited and being younger might be good in relating to high school players.

And besides, then we can keep talking about him being the last Badger to use a wooden stick.

Actually, I'd like to nominate myself.

• Badger fan for nearly 30 years.
• I have Cardinal colored blood.
• I've played at all levels of men's leagues across the state.
• Can put a rink in my back yard for an extra ice sheet.
• Youth coach for the past 7 years.
• Know, although they may not admit it and tend to ignore me, several former Badger players including Oz.
• I work with our youth goalies who have a team save % of .88.
• I'd REALLY like the job.
• I've been to Minnesota AND Canada on several occasions.
• I'm a people person.

Need I go on... ?

Got WOOD? :D

A couple Granato's may not be bad choices. May be a pay cut though.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

I concur on the Granato's, Don would be awesome but the 3rd assistant position might be too far down for him.

Any guys from the 90 team floating (aside Andringa who appears to be set) around madison that might be a good choice?

I also like the idea of one of the 06 guys...they might be young but hell one of Eaves son's was an assistant on BC a few years back so why not?

sidenote - it would be nice to get Bill Howard but I'm thinking his philosophy doesn't match Coach Eaves or the other way around...

We're not getting anyone without college or USHL coaching experience.

So does Oz or Patrick handle more recruiting? I thought it was Patrick. This could be a bummer with him leaving.

Howie isn't coming back. :( I whish he'd get back on the radio.

Steve Rohlick comes to mind for me.

I wouldn't mind tDon. Seriously. Maybe Eaves will wait long enough to see if the ax falls on him or not. He's doing more trapping this year and Eaves is doing less, so both could learn from each other.

KP spends a lot more time on the road recruiting. At least when I've seen the coaching staff at games/events.

Pavelski has two goals and two assists against Nashville tonight... in the third period alone, including a spin-o-rama fall down backhand shot for a goal. Fans chanting USA in honor.

Still 5 minutes to go, so maybe he's not done yet.

What an exciting game. Heater also with 2 goals and an assist. The spin-o-rama was right in front of Suter too - he finished -6. :p

Pavs and Heater really helped my fantasy team tonight. Good thing I dropped Suter last week!

Big time performance for Pav's tonight.

So from what Chuck and GB Puck Fan have said, looks like UW needs a recruiting coordinator.

I really like the Canadian kids on UW. How responsible is KP for getting guys like Goulebef, Rumpel, Goody, Schultz, Lee, 1st Star and Turris out of Canada?

Pretty sure that Oz did a lot of the work in Western Canada. Seems like he was up that way quite a bit in 05-06 when our kids were on the same team.

They haven't been together since that time, so I'm out of the loop now, such as it was.
