We’re two days away from the season opener, and still no announcement on tv coverage this season. Kind of concerning…

Basketball fans are complaining so I guarantee hockey is getting very little tv coverage this year.

didn’t Barry “I’m not a hockey guy” Alvarez say the b10 would be great for hockey and they’d get better tv coverage?

bua ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

This might be the year you will need to pick up BTN+. I already have it, but you will get all home games and any Big7 games (unless they are on BTN or Bally or elsewhere) minus at Notre Dame (NBC/Peacock).

I posted above the discount I got, but have no idea if that code still works.

The most recent email I have has a $30 off code - EMAIL - which is very original.

I am thinking about springing for BTN+, but I'm pretty sure it will be Augustana and then no coverage until Minnesota two weeks later. I might wait until that weekend to get it.

Kind of? How about "the freaking house is on fire" concerning! If you do the BTN+ you also will get UW women's hockey games, though with probably horrific announcers, bad camera angles and 1979 graphics, but at least you see the games.

I put this up at Buckyville and thought this forum should give a yeah or neh on my 21-15 record being a great season. What say you Badger hockey fans?

Q: "What are reasonable expectations for this season? If things broke right could they be in contention for the tournament?"

My A:

Yes, but the problem is the Big7 is stacked and conference will be a meat grinder. Preseason rankings: Minnesota 3, Michigan 6, MSU 9, OSU 13, PSU 16, N/D 20. Badgers were unranked, receiving votes and at 24 going by that.

Add in the n/c games against NoDak (only 1 game) 7, Mich Tech 10 and a game against Northeastern 19 or Minn Duluth 17 in Milwaukee and you have one of if not the toughest schedule in the country.

Other nonconference should be fairly easy wins. Let's say you go 7-1 against Bemidji, Air Force, Alaska Anchorage, Augustana, and Lindenwood. Let's say you split the other 28 games (which may be a tall task), you would be 21 -15 (not figuring ties in here at this point) and would be on the cusp of an at large bid.

21-15 would be a great season in my opinion. Hastings has never had a losing season as a coach, but he has his work cut out for him this year to continue that streak.

Well there you have it no Bally this year. It's BTN+ if you want to see hockey games. And other subscriptions NCHC for NoDak and FloHockey TV for the CCHA teams.

https://madison.com/wisconsin-mens-h...b2ef81542f78ce

Edit: FloHockey is $30/month, $150/Year paid annually. Not options for single games. That knocks out watching the CCHA games, unless you pay $30 for 3 games. NoDak thru NCHC TV is $17 for the one game.

Man…21-15 would fantastic considering how terrible this team was under Granato the last several years.

I suspect by January regardless of record Wisconsin will be a hell of a tough team to beat.

I predict a slow start with one or two slip ups to weaker non-conference teams. Then as the team gels they get better as the season goes on. I'll get a little wild and say they have a better Big Ten record then non conference record.

I'd be happy with a winning record since half the roster has turned over and we've seen with the FB program that a new coach can only do so much as far as scheme/effort/culture changes go in year 1. I do think the cupboard is more full for the hockey program than the FB program and there is less moving parts with hockey than FB, but I'd just rather be cautious, though in the past I was yelping about making the NCAA's.

The TV schedule is god awful. Clearly BTN has signaled that if you re not MN or Michigan, you're not getting on TV. Demise of the FSN and Balley's networks has killed being able to watch hockey on TV.

I dont know how as BTN in the fall you dont feature a doubleheader each fri/sat night. The other aports like VB and Basketball play thruout the week. But no, we get "Campus Eats" or "MN in 60 mins" football reruns.

I messed around with B1G+ subscription options this morning). The discount codes posted above (TEAM or EMAIL) both work, but only on the most expensive annual subscription options (Conference pass for $120, or team pass for $80). I think I will go with the hockey only pass, which is cheaper, even with no discount code.

counting all the games that will be B1G+ only this year, it comes down to a little over $2 a game.

Kudos to the women’s team for kicking the shit out of Boston College! I hope every game is a sell-out for them as they deserve much more respect from Badger fans and press than what I’ve seen. 7 titles in and they should be dwarfing volleyball in popularity.

also, I hope it’s not true but MJ may be looking at retirement after the season. Let’s enjoy the ride.

What's the source for the Johnson rumor? He's very tight-lipped.
