Wisconsin Hockey 23-24: Hastily Making Wisconsin Hockey Great Again

Well looks like Badgers will end up in the BC pool. With a likely date against the defending chanps, Quinnipiac.

To be the best, you have to beat the best. Wish granted.

Although, I like the matchup against Q much more than the alternative of Omaha or Cornell. Both are on a roll, Omaha just took down the Sioux and Cornell is one of those lull you to sleep kind of teams IMO. Id rather avoid both.

Against Q they are playing a D oriented team, just like them. Going to come down to who takes advantages of scoring opportunities.

No matter what region they were selected to be in the road would be tough given their last 2 months of .500 play.

The season was successful even if they get bounced by Q. But I’m definitely weary of how ugly a game vs BC could be should Wisconsin win vs Q. BC looks to be head and shoulders the clas of this field.

Wow. Wheels falling off Badger basketball. Essegian Entering the portal and most likely Storr will be gone as well.

oof

Lol! Essegian was pretty much nonexistent this year. Blackwell took all his minutes from him and is a better player. This is the basketball equivalent if Charlie Strammel entered the portal. Both were highly touted kids that showed flashes their freshman seasons, but haven't lived up to expectations in their 2nd season. Both their minutes were overtaken by other players because they were defensive blackholes and don't really get "it". Does it hurt depth? Yep, but easily replaceable if he continues to shoot they way he did this year. Storr would be a huge loss, but unless there's more transferring I wouldn't say the wheels are falling off yet...

When we get to BC, I'm not worried about the game. The boys have been competitive in every game they play to this season, that won't be any different. My biggest concern is we haven't played a game in like a month and Q has.

Agreed and both bye weeks this year, they came out completely flat in the next game, except in Milwaukee at the Fiserv, but they were playing an inferior team.

On the other hand, maybe the 3 weeks allowed them to get healthy and they will come out with a great fire burning left from losing the last one at the Kohl Center.

I can toss a coin on either scenario.

Yes I agree the season has been an absolute success. Sure when you're winning you always want more wins and you want the play to continually improve which maybe it hasn't necessarily but he has hastily made Wisconsin hockey better.

I'm a little bit bummed that I'm going to be out of state tomorrow so I'm not really sure if I'm going to be able to watch the game live or not just due to the activities of our little trip we're doing. I'm sure it all will come together.

Agreed Tim! And if it doesn’t happen this year I definitely believe in the next few years Hastings will bring another title to Madison. Wisconsin Men’s Hockey is back!
