Wcha 24 25

This week in the WCHA

Rodents at BADgers in a titanic battle for first place. BADgers are no hot, some rodent fans would say the rodents are never hot.
St. Cloud at MSU. MSU tries to keep a thread of hope for 5th place
UMD at BSU. Does UMD end the not winning streak?
STU at TWSNBN. Tommies gonna win on 8 sog again?

Battle for first place is really underselling the gap between first and second place.

Just to be clear, anything other than a complete six point sweep by the Gophers, and Wisconsin clinches the WCHA regular season championship outright.

(And if such a sweep occurs, a single point gained by Wisconsin vs Bemidji in two weeks gets Wisconsin at least a share of the title, and two points again means an outright championship.)

And that's if the Gophers also manage to not drop a single point to either SCSU or UMD during the following two weeks.

Sorry folks. The WCHA schedule shows the Beavers playing in the NCAA finals. Looks like the fix is in.

If I'm being honest, the Beavers in the NCAA finals would be more interesting to me than anything the home team could do at this point. Plus, it spares us from having to watch a fourth straight battle of the evil empires.

Senior Day, plus the possible awarding of the "Julienne Bye Trophy" isn't enough?
The rodent fans have been very self-depreciating over the course of the season, or actually the last few seasons, I'm trying to give our friends to the West a little juice. I suppose they counter balance the Twsnbn fans. I think UW fans strike a good balance between the two. Let's go RED!

You'd be more excited to see the beavers than the rodents in the finals? Would you be pretty happy to defeat both evil empire teams to get the title?

I don't use interesting and exciting interchangeably. Also, if the Beavers lost in the final, I would be spared the inevitable depression that the Gophs can inflict upon me.
